Hi
Just restarted writing my fantasy novel. This looks a great site.
Dear colleagues, I am happy to be here for the first time. I was a little shy at first having reviewed profiles of most members and noticed that there are hardly African natives in the forum. Instead of shrieking, I have taken it as a challenge to come here and get polished. Please give me your generous, honest and brutal reviews to help me sharpen my writing skills. I am a budding writer and still require tons of confidence. Help a brother realize his dream.
Hi all! New to the site and looking forward to getting started...I've posted my first piece and already gotten some great feedback. I'd appreciate whatever critiques/comments/criticisms you might have to offer as well. I'm looking forward to doing some reading and reviewing as well...looks like there's a lot of great content on here.
A question as well: I have a piece I'd like to submit for the flash fiction contest. Can I edit it after I submit it? Or will the first draft that I post be the one that is submitted for judging?
Be very welcome, Culpepper! The best way to get your own work reviewed is to review other people's work and befriend writers with your same interests.
Kiss,
Gacela
It's also cool to post a short bio. Then it's easier for other people to connect with you once they know who you are.

You can edit it up until the contest deadline.
Welcome!
Hey all! New to the site and raring to go...I've posted the first chapter of my work and looking forward to meaningful feedbacl! I'd appreciate whatever thoughts and wisdoms you might have to offer. I'm also looking forward to reading and reviewing some content as no doubt there's plenty!
This is also the first time I've ever written something like this and sought critique from those who aren't family or friends (yet) etc. so I'm truly excited.
Thanks,
Wilt
Hi everyone,
I have recently joined this page having experimented with a little bit of writing in the last few months. I would be very keen to hear some advice or feedback on my work posted on here and will of course be reading through some of your stuff for inspiration as well!
Thanks all,
Matt
Hi,
I'm new to TheNextBigWriter but I'm not new to writing. I've been writing and teaching writing for years. I finally self-published my first book in February 2016. It is a memoir based on my mother's life. I'm now working on a big fat juicy historical novel called On The Edge of a Precipice. I'm about 80% done and I'll be searching for an agent shortly.
I've met some of you through your critiquing my work. I've posted two chapters so far. I've also read quite a bit of your work.
Looking forward to more interaction.
Sherry
Hello all
I'm old but new. Technically been a member for eons, but I disappeared because life. I missed a site change apparently....
Previously went by k.s. talyn, but decided to change it. Aly is nickname. Two major WIP right now (I know, I know I need to finish one.) 'It's all Mercenary' and 'The Speaker'. I write mainly fantasy, but I read scifi, mystery, and romance as well.
The last time I was here, I collaborated with C. Lee Brown and many others and got two stories published in an anthology. I am in the United States Coast Guard, so I apologize in advance for erratic schedules.
Hi Everyone, I'm old but new. I'm basically Wilt Roberson! for some reason my account stopped working. Decided to start afresh and with that bring an improved version of my work.
Here's a description of my book "The Burning Lotus"
In the shadows, Dorian loves to observe his neighbour. She makes him feel alive. Routinely peeping, Dorian is a witness to a crime. He soon finds himself caught in a world he has no business being
in and, living with schizoaffective disorder, the one that lives in his mind. As Dorian struggles for balance, he'll learn what his existence means and what it takes to become a hero. This is still my first attempt at a book and I'm going strong (130 pages) but I'm focusing on learning a lot of the nuances I know I'm missing when it comes to writing. I am raring to go and willing to learn! I've posted the first 5 chapters and would love any kind of feedback!
Thanks,
Smith (For now )
Hey everyone! Good to join the community. I have started writing a fantasy novel and decided the best way to improve on the drafts was to post to a couple of communities online for feedback. I am much more of a storyteller than an english major so typos and passive voice and the like may be abundant in my writing but I simply press on in the hopes of telling a gripping story.
Hello everyone! My friend and I are in the process of writing a new fantasy novel and are just looking for places to get some reviews and critiques on our work to improve it!
Post in a group with points and reciprocate when you get reviews. Look for one of the fantasy related groups to call home and start a forum thread.
If anyone could check out my book In a Heartbeat it would be appreciated!
Hello everyone! I hope to improve my writing and make new friends here!

Love your story! Welcome to the site. JP
Welcome to all new comers. I'm still new and wobbly. But everyone has been very supportive. And thank you, Jack for being such a good neighbor.
Really, really like this site. In just the short time I've been here, I've learned so much from the seasoned veterans and talented writers here.

Hello everyone. I am new here. I would love if you read my work and review it. I promise to do the same
Welcome, Yug. I noticed you're posting your stories to the internet. If you're just writing for fun, that's fine. However, if you plan to publish these stories in the future, you won't be able to find a publisher if the content is already out there. Even if you eventually take them down from here, there may be draft copies permanently floating around for Google to find.
Just posted one chapter of a book I'm working on called Non-Compliant. Give it a read and I welcome any and all feedback.
