DA, you are more than welcome. Glad to see you!

Nope. You put them there. What? Think I wouldn't notice? You need to read your own spreadsheets.

(Throws another rock at you just for fun:-)

He goes through phases where he picks on people and then later pays nice. It keeps people thinking he's a nice guy.

(Marilyn Monroe voice) Happy Biiirrrthday, Misster President....:-)

I'm almost due to renew for my third year. Goes quick, doesn't it?

I'm stalled over the next chapter of Dictates. I need to just start writing and see what happens. Just 500 words a day or so. That way, I have time to think in between scenes.

(Jealous!) What I wouldn't do to have the time to sit down with a book and let the world fall away...

Ok, I lost the sizes for you and kids. Your youngest is a boys 10, but give me sizes for Hubble, you, and oldest son. I have another friend going through her cast offs. I'm thinking that your youngest is going to make out like a bandit.

Google Sarcosuchus and Spinosaurus pictures. That was what I was trying to convey with the second critter. The first one was one molt shy of a dragon. But if you really want creepy eyes under the water, I'll see what I can come up with. (Heh, heh)

Depends. What do you want to write about? Sketch the chapter, otherwise you'll have to figure it out yourself.  FYI, I helped sort at the rummage sale today and have my eye on a couple hats as well as a balaklava. No coats for now, but I think my one son has a great jacket for you as long as you don't mind scrubbing out a few stains. I don't need it for Sean for at least a few years, so you might as well have it. I'll be sending off your care package next week after the sale wraps up.

Interesting thoughts. K (obviously) thinks like a guy and I've had others critique me in the past that I didn't write accurately from a male perspective. This was the first draft of the scene between Kha and Sil. A guy who read it said that sex for a man is about possession. (not in a negative way, either) It is about taking and controlling.  This is in contrast to a woman, where sex is about sharing and giving. We're just wired that way. I took the advice to heart and kind of changed the intent of the scene between Kha and Sil. Let's see if I can do it for K's exerpt...

Matthew considered the possibility. Catherine would make a perfect mistress. She was a widow, so there was no stigma at making her own decisions. She was barren, so he wouldn't have to worry about an illigitimate heir. As long as they were discreet, there were no drawbacks. It might be for just a short spell, of course,, but he'd never responded to a woman so intensely . Admiting that he wanted her was worth exploring in every way imaginable.

This wouldn't distract from the search for the blackguard.

You are a very thorough soul.  Imagine that :-)

NLPR (no longer playing records)

Hazmat personnel (glow worms)

CC (cancel Christmas)

HIBGIA (had it before, got it again)

I didn't close my parenthesis. Lame.

She has a new car, New Jersey. The battery should be good. And Janet, when he says to run the 'tank' down, he means the windshield washer reservoir, rather than the gas tank. This isn't bad advice, but all you need to do is open the reservoir and smell it. The alcohol smell is obvious if the fluid is fresh. (Keeps the ice from building up on your windshield and forcing you to stop. (Read up on wind chill)

You can get a scraper at any gas station. They are like rabbits. You'll see them everywhere.

smile to quote a certain character, you can try...

Oh, don't forget to buy a scraper for your car. Even if you don't have to worry about snow, you'll have mist that freezes on your window. No scraper means waiting 5 minutes for your car defrost to work before it is safe to drive. PSS, look up where the defrost is on your car next to the heat buttons)

Don't know or much care about the cost. I figure shipping would be about $50 to $60 US, but that is less than the price of one good coat. And I have two coats, three vests, and assorted gloves collected already. They are women's, but I figure it doesn't matter about fashion as long as you don't freeze to death.

There is a rummage sale here on Tuesday (they call them flurries in the UK), so I'll see what falls my way. What are the sizes of your sons?

Elisheva, travel can come later. What matters is a willingness to listen and learn about other cultures. You've already got that down. You're a writer. Doesn't matter where you live.

FYI, FedEx permits you to ship alcohol:-)

We replace our wipers at least once a year because winter ice rips them to shreds. Oh, Janet? Send my your address so I can send you my extra and outsized winter clothing/ hats/ gloves. That way, it won't be a tragedy if they lose a glove or something. This way, your kids will be equipped to play in the snow.

I will. I'd better, actually since I'm going to be paying for it for the next 6 years. Oh, I had to get a manual, so I don't have to worry about the downshifts. An autistic son with an intense interest in starting the car has made me fanatical about stick shifts. My neighbor's fence appreciates my thoughtfulness. And the pool behind it...

I just think of what NJC's landlord would say if he saw the posts about 'overgaining' and 'catastrophic failure'. Heh. To be a fly on the wall when the guy has a heart attack and is DRT (EMS speak for Dead Right There)

My all time favorite abbreviation in reference to psych patients. Highly politically incorrect, BTW. As a disclaimer, let it be known that anyone on this site is far too real to have this apply.  Wait for it...CCFCCP. Coo Coo For Coco Puffs.

I just signed on a Jeep Renegade with the upgraded options in the Latitude package (power doors, locks, and keyless entry)  We had to do that to get the roof rails so we can haul tons of stuff on the roof.  It breaks my heart to let the Saturn go. She was such a loyal car! Kind of like putting a parent on an ice-flow and watching them sail away...

On a positive note, my youngest will explode with excitement when he realizes we got a blue car. The things that matter when you are five years old!

There is a store called REI that sells quality hiking and skiing clothing. Aother one you can find in some stores is Columbia. Fingerless gloves aren't enough of a solution. Remember to buy Polartec clothing (preferably with a coating called Windblock) regardless of whether you can afford REI's prices or not. A simple fleece undershirt will do you wonders on staying warm in this weather. For someone who has never experienced cold, remember that layers are always a good way to go (seems like you have that one down already), and that you can't stay warm once you get wet (sweating into a poorly breathing coat is an example) so you need a layer to wick away the moisture.

You'll find that there are gloves everywhere, but many of them are crap and let in the gusting winds. I've found that it is worth any price to have warm hands. That means spending a fortune on gloves, but it is REALLY important for your comfort level. Coats can be layered, but you can't layer your hands and still drive. Also, always remember to cover your head with a really good hat, otherwise you lose all your heat in the first thirty seconds of being outside.

Speaking of which, you need to learn to drive in cold weather/ icy weather. Read up on it before you have to deal with that experience for the first time.  (No sudden turns of the wheel if there is bad traction/ wide turns/ pump your brakes when stopping unless you have anti-lock brakes. Both ways end up sliding you over the road, but will get you stopped eventually)

Gotta look out for my Aussie friend so I can collect some wine down the road :-)

Sorry I locked you out. I must have been on my phone and the icons are tiny. Didn't even see it (ducks head and pouts)

Not that I would ever do it on purpose, but I can do that? I'm going to have to use that line when Alda is asked to do a healing spell or something...
