Adele is back! She has released a new video to her single from the album, 25.

She does not disappoint. Click on the link below and hear it for yourself. I'm sure you'll agree.

Hello

Congrats to all the winners! Well done.

Thanks, Vern. It's  comfort to know I'm not the only one.

Ha! Thanks, Norm. Yes, I did that to another author a little while ago. I'd started a review in January, then lost it, then found it again in August, and submitted it to get it off of my list. I was hoping there would be a way to delete it. The author in question would just razz me about it, as we exchange reviews with a glibness built in, so this would really provide ammo. big_smile

Thanks for the suggestion. My OCD self will most likely end up doing just that.

Good Morning njc!

While I appreciate your opinion on the methodology of the site's procedures, I still don't know how to delete an IL draft. The points are not the issue for me. At least, not in this case.

I just want the draft off of my list.

Grab a quarter, drop it in the jukebox (if you're old enough to know what one is) and play your tune.

I'm feeling rather mellow this morning, so here's my first selection for the Chillin Jukebox.

If you're not sure how to post a youtube (or other format) song, check out the BBCode and use the section that says, "You can create links to other documents or to email addresses using the following tags:" and then edit accordingly.

Being distracted during a review is commonplace for me. The system does, indeed, auto save. The bigger problem was that it would not permit access to that auto saved file.

So, I began the review again. Distracted. Okay, I began the review a third time, and this time finished it! I posted the IL review, received a reply, and all is well.

Then, as if the Gods of the TNBW were laughing, the drafts are now on my list, and fully accessible, to do everything but delete the entire thing. Since "no points will be issued, as you have already reviewed this chapter", and the fact that I've already sent my review and received a reply from the author, HOW do I get the draft off of my IL review list?

Yes, I'm OCD and Hate seeing red text, as if I've done something wrong that needs correcting.

In conclusion...
How do I delete an IL "Draft" Review?

Happy Halloween!

Here's a 22 second video that should give you a chuckle. It's of a child being instructed to clean out the pumpkin so the carving can begin.

Not gonna happen.

I don't think so. I'm thinking the announcement will be hard to miss. But then again, I do miss a lot! big_smile

As an aside, the old site encouraged replies to reviews by not allowing new posts from an author, until all of the reviews were, at the very least, acknowledged.

Yeah, Lee. I find that to be true. Perhaps the work-a-day world is just so stressful, that folks don't want distractions when they finally do get the opportunity to write. But, then again, we are two of the 'retired' individuals. We've learned to step back and let an hour pass without notice.

Looking through the other forums, there are a few of us being silly. But, I'm afraid, not intentionally. Ha!

Here's to not caring. *clink*

Hi Dill,

If someone has taken their time and effort to review one of my stories, I give them the respect to reply to it. If I do not appreciate their input, I tell them so. There have been some nasty people come and go, but I am confrontational, and deal with that head on. It has been explained to me that I'm the odd-man-out on that.

If I review someone, and they don't respond, I don't take it personally, either. If I like the story, and have the time, I continue reading/reviewing. Their opinion of my review is irrelevant to the point system.

Each author has their own method for their work. but I was completely unaware of this one. I will keep yours in mind, of course, should I find myself reviewing any of your stories, and you do not respond. Thanks for sharing an alternate method of dealing with folks you'd rather not hear from.

I want to thank each of my WONDERFUL reviewers for their fabulous input on my entry. Don Chambers, Randall Krzak, Linda Lee, Seabrass, j p lundstrom, Rebecca Vaughn, Janet Reid, Adam Keys, and skeptikoi helped to make Symbols one of the most intriguing stories I've written. Thank you so very much!

No matter what the outcome of the contest (good luck to all participants) I'm submitting this one for consideration of publication.

I do love the wonderful writers and reviewers on this site. I'm looking forward to repaying my debt of reviews. smile

Thanks, JP!

Congratulations. To me, it means you've connected with the characters in that scene in a deep, emotional, manner. Understand, the average reader might not. But, then again, they might.

I've noticed since this posting that there is now a question mark (?) next to the blue box with your name on it. It is a short cut to The Next Big Writer's Help Guide.

Thanks Sol! That makes things much easier. smile

How about an adjustment to the computations.  I posted a poem last night over 7 points.  I read a chapter in line review for 1.6 points.  I think the base of the problem is in the calculations.  Not to be whiny but just sayin.  Mike

yikes WTH? Seven (7) points?

The Endurance Points thread got me thinking.

Would anyone support author give Bonus Points... Thoughts?

I just posted this on the Endurance Points thread. Since it's relevant to your suggestion, I'm adding it here, as well.

"...Let's say I have 1000+ points in my account. I can afford to pay reviewers. But, poor John Doe, who just joined the site, doesn't have two points to rub together. He couldn't pay for reviewers, so he's screwed out of those reviewers who won't get extra bonus points for reviewing his stuff. They will come to me, instead..."

So, that would be the inherent problem with author given Bonus Points.

I suppose one other thing you can do (which I did) is if you found certain reviewers MOST helpful, message them and ask them to continue reviewing your later chapters.

You mean, reach out and communicate your needs to specific people?

Hmmm... That's so crazy it just might work. big_smile
