BTW, I'm still experiencing error messages in the forum. Very annoying. I thought they were fixed but I guess not. I'm going to have that taken care of also.

I discovered an interesting bug related to inline reviews. I received an inline review from someone with no inline comments (he already reviewed the chapter before the crash), but with a closing comment. I received the site's email informing me of the new review, but the only way to access it is by clicking the link in the email. The review does not show up in the Inline Reviews tab, nor at the bottom of the chapter where other reviews are listed, and there's no indication on the home page that I have a new review. Once I delete the email, I won't be able to access it anymore. The site should probably cough up a warning message that there are no inline comments, and it definitely should be visible like any other review.

Interesting. It's a big of an edge case but it does warrant some type of message. We'll take a look. Thanks for passing it along.

Sol, I noticed this morning under my billing profile that I have an account balance of -2024. Is that an error, or just some quirk of how the billing profile is displayed onscreen?

It's probably a quirk with how I had to adjust the accounts for the free six months. I'll look into it but you won't have to pay for some time smile.

Providing you're doing everything you possibly can to avoid another crash like that. At the very least, and considering the subscription fees, our intellectual property oughta be safeguarded.

There will always be crashes. In this case, the recent backups did not work properly. We are taking extra care to make sure our backups are functional. That being said, TheNextBigWriter is not a storage system. I would highly recommend you backup your own writing even if you are saving it to Google or some other cloud based service. I know someone who saved everything they had to Google and then their account was hacked. They lost it all.

I am not the only one running the site. Even if I go, there are others who take the reins.

Thank you but I still feel terrible. The last two weeks have been tough. I do appreciate the kind words. At one point, I wasn't even sure it made sense to keep the site going. This thread makes me feel like we made the right decision.

Glad the site's back up and at 'em. I was close to 200 points, I think. What comes to mind is 189 points. I only have 2 old short stories remaining. I'm not sure I've posted enough to get 500 points, but I'll take what you can give me. How about 300-400?
