“Yin Su? How are you feeling?”

“Where am I?”

“You’ve been resting. You died violently and needed time.”

“Died? I’m dead?”

“Well, you no longer have a body. Nothing ever really dies.”

“Oh.”

“Do you remember the Traveler? He tried to explain it.”

“Oh. I remember him. And my Husband.”

“Yes, these two people were important to you in that lifetime.”

“Did my Husband kill me?”

“That doesn’t really matter. You’re here now.”

“Where is here?”

“In-between. It’s a rather pleasant place.”

“And who are you?”

“Oh, sorry, forgot to introduce myself. I’m your guide. Ask any questions and I’ll try to answer.”

“Guide? To what?”

“Your life. We try to do a little review when you leave one life before you go on to the next. When the death is violent, as yours was, it takes a while for you to get oriented.”

“What?’

“You’ve done this before. You just don’t remember when you’re experiencing a life.”

“Other lives?”

“Yes, quite a few actually. But let’s not go into that now. You had a hard life as Yin Su.”

“It was nice at first. Then I could not please my Husband.”

“That was difficult. But you kept trying, even though having a man-child as you called it was not in your scope of control. Sperm decide the sex of a child.”

“Sperm? What’s that?”

“Sorry, I keep using terms that aren’t known in your time. Let’s just say there was nothing you could have done.”

“Men have it so easy.”

“Um… You think so?”

“Yes, everything is for them. They tell women what they can and can not do. They have control of everything. Life must be much easier for a man.”

“There are different issues when you’re a man.”

“Can’t be worse than being a woman. I would like to experience being a man.”

“Well, there is it. That’s what we’ll do.”

“What do you mean?”

“You are ready to go back. Now, realize that you’re not going to remember anything directly from your Yin Su life.”

“No? Why not?”

“Can’t really say. That’s just the way it works. However, you may have some glimpses, some of the same interests. Sometimes things seem familiar if you’ve experienced something similar in a past life. It’s kinda fun. But you won’t realize it until that life is over.”

“But I can have a man-body?”

“Yes, you can!”

“That should make life easier.”

“Can’t promise that. And you’ll be going to a different part of the world and in a different time. It will be more advanced than Yin Su’s culture.”

“What happens now?”

“Just relax. I’ll make all the arrangements. I’m like a soul travel agent.”

“A what?”

“Sorry. Relax. You’ll experience birth in just a moment. Your name will be Marus.”
