K: follows the pleasant sound of a screaming reader throwing a book at a wall. Smiles.
Funny. I'm actually the one throwing the book at a wall. Better yet, into a fireplace. I still like the prologue, though.

Why? Is there a three-ring circus in town?
I can't believe you even need to ask that question. :-)
William, knowing the people I routinely review and who review me, I believe that all of us would appreciate knowing your opinions of our work. I know I would be, although I'm currently between projects. I had a "reader" once tell me to start my book over and he gave me his reasons. Everyone else who reviewed me gave me a few minor suggestions and encouragement, but it was that one honest review that convinced me to start over. I'm glad I did. New members may need a little encouragement along with constructive feedback, but the rest of us have been at this a long time and look forward to critical reviews.
You should see my prologue. It has K's influence all over it.

I checked into that and made a post there. There were no responses.
You have to be a member of a group to see the forum posts for that group. Whatever group you choose (or create), advertise it in Premium, then check if the membership in the group goes up.
There's a general-purpose Fight Club group.

Is that good enough or should I go on?
You must have been the scariest kid on the playground.
You slowing down is a good thing for me since I need a chance to catch up on reviewing your story.
I plod away at pretty much all my chapters. Right now I'm having trouble finishing my edits to Galaxy Tales because the research for Rise of the Unholy Trinity is like a siren's song. One hundred pages of notes and counting. And tax season is now upon me, so I'm about to put everything else on hold.

Japan has very strict gun laws. Total deaths in Japan by guns in 2014: 6. Total deaths in the US by guns in 2014: 33,599.
Just saying.

Actually, he's sticking his finger in an electrical outlet. It's his way of doing his hair. Einstein used to do it too. Important note: never open the housing for a toy motor and tap it with a screwdriver while it's plugged in. It actually melted the screwdriver. Almost won a Darwin Award for that one.
Sadly, it's almost time to pull details together for tax season, and I still have a dozen chapters to edit of the old book.
Woohoo! Finished making notes from my main Revelation study guide. According to the Catholic Church, a lot of it is purely symbolic, which can be both good and bad. Bad because it's not always clear what the verses are symbolic of and good because I have some freedom to interpret it for myself. Next step is to review several of the other study guides to see if I can fill in a few blanks. Then comes the Catholic New Testament study guide. That's going to be a bitch since I need details of many of the places Jesus visited and the miracles he performed. And there are quite a few short NT books I've never even read before. Tsk.
No, the points needed are based on the individual chapter you're trying to publish, not the work as a whole.
If you want some easy points feel free to read my story Into the Mind of God. The early chapters have been revised to death, so feel free to drop the minimum number of comments (five) and run. My chapters are a bit long, though, although I hope the early ones are worth reading.
Go to your portfolio and click on the book whose chapters you want to hide. That will take you to the publish wizard. Click on Publish at the top, which displays a list of all of your chapters. To the right of each chapter is a menu to select Active/Inactive. I think I have this right. It's a little different for short stories, but the Publish page is where you control visibility.

My bad.
Lynne, I suggest you eventually edit the first post in this thread so you can rename it to something that catches people's attention when they see it on their home pages. "Hi" is fine for now, since you just got here and people will read that. Most of us routinely use something like: title - name (e.g., Rise of the Unholy Trinity - Norm d'Plume). I had to edit my title about a billion times this week, trying to find one that didn't stink. :-)

I am reviewing as fast as I can, but I have to get some work done (and some writing!) as well. The short stories took fewer points so they've been published first. I'm assuming that publishing to point groups makes that piece pay points as well?
Yes. Although it's time consuming, reading other writers' work has made me a better writer. If you're lucky you'll find a great reviewer who has interesting stories to read. Also, the site allows you to see all reviews for a given chapter/short story/etc. Reading those reviews has also helped improve my writing.
Hi Lynne. I left you a review on one of your flash fiction stories. I noticed that some of your stories were published without points. If any of them are stories you really want reviewed, I suggest publishing with them points. I don't need points (have a bazillion already), so it's not for me.
No need to reciprocate with a review of my stuff. I'm just tweaking the ending of v3 of one of my stories, then they'll disappear as I move on to another project.
Welcome to the site!
Looks like Rick Gates (Manafort's partner) is nearing a plea deal with Mueller. I doubt he'd get one if he didn't have something to offer.
Awesome! I double-checked and Rise of the Unholy Trinity is not a book but is part of a series of sermons/podcasts. The full title of one of the sermons is Revelation: Rise of the Unholy Trinity. I'm good to go.
njc wrote:'Unholy' is a negated word. I don't have the thesaurus hand, but if you can find an intrinsicly negative word, it might be stronger.
And try dropping the article.
Unholy Trinity is a phrase commonly used by Christians to refer to Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet.
Nuts. A similar title, Rise of the Unholy Trinity, is already in use.
