J_Teck, that's romantic. It's sweet.
My sweetie recently sat with me at the emergency room and read aloud to me while we waited. That's a sweet gesture.

What's the most romantic gesture you've ever received? Given? Remember, this is romance. It's doesn't have to be sexual in nature.
I'm ok with they text box for the comments. I just didn't know what it was. Thanks, Sol.
Romantic suspense.
I agree with Dirk.
I've always wondered how the number of points to post a chapter is determined. It's confused me from day 1. I mean, I've posted long chapters that have taken fewer points than short chapters. How are points for posting and/or reviewing calculated? I'd just like to know.

3--Al Pacino ????
4--Clint Eastwood (Dirty Harry & Rawhide???)
I must be really lost here. I'll probably groan when I recognize all of them once you post the answers.
Thanks, Sol.
I'll check back in June.
Sorry to see you go
Charles, just highlight and say some thing like raced down the road would be stronger than ran. You're causing yourself grief. You'll be okay. Take a deep breath.
Vern and Jack and Wilma have the answer. No need to copy and paste.
KHippolite,
They really don't get Alain Richter.
I will respond to claddaghdagron's question. I think it's possible for a person to be torn between feelings for two people. That person will eventually have to make a choice because the divided heart can never be complete. Forcing that choice could result in the person walking away from both. Better to have a whole, empty heart, than one that is in pieces. I also think it's possible for a person to always have a piece of their heart to belong to their first love. I just hope nobody misunderstands this as being unfaithful in a relationship. These are not thoughts about sex or lust, but the heart. Even the Bible in Jeremiah 17:9 says, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
I posted this once before, but here are my thoughts.
Speaking of auto renewal. What is the procedure to make sure you have all the correct billing info and when will the renewal take place? I joined in June 2010. You definitely need new credit card info.
Here is Sol's answer. I've now done all three.
It's designed for three different things.
1. For work being posted on TheNextBigWriter, it's a vote of confidence in the work, like a Like. Except it puts it on your TNBW bookshelf so others can see what books on here you think merit being included on your shelf.
2. For books you have published it's a way to show them off on your page and promote them.
3. And for books that you have read and enjoyed, it's a way of showing other writers your tastes and what kind of reading you like to do.
If that's not enough, then go to the comment box and continue. The one thing that I think would be so much easier is if the comments could be seen side by side with the text rather than having to click on the highlighted area--Like you can do when you track changes in Word. Even when reading the remarks to your reviews would be easier without having to click each place to see if the author even made a comment. Ok, I know we're getting silly with all our wants and wishes, but maybe Santa can deliver?????
Ok, Sol. Here's a little nit picking thing that wasn't happening last week but is now. It seems that my closing remarks on inline reviews shows up twice. I don't care, but it just started.
Well said, Mariana! Nice work, Sol. Thank you.
I love Rush Hour, but mainly because I like to watch Jackie Chan move. That man is poetry in motion.
I had agents asking for complete manuscripts and then taking months to get back with me. I also went the contest route for exposure. My stuff tends to do well with contests that look for more classical style of writing. But after many queries, I decided to go indie. I can't quit my day job--YET. But I sell some books either in print or for Kindle every month and get a royalty check every month. I just got word that I'm doing quite well in Denmark. And I've had nothing but 4 & 5-star reviews. I also have friends who are trying to traditional way. Hey! It's become commonplace for even big publishing houses to make the writer do much of their own promotion. And I'd rather go indie than with a vanity press that will most likely go under in a year or so. My one piece of advice to indie authors--GET A PROFESSIONAL EDITOR TO READ YOUR WORK FIRST. Even then and even in big-house published pieces, you'll find mistakes. And if you're like me, a non-formula writer, indie is the route. Also, the wave of the future is electronic, though I still love the feel and smell of paper. Another thing to keep in mind is that big publishers give big distributors the buy-back option. Indie and small publisher don't offer that. You can't believe the number of books by big name authors I sent back when I worked retail (back in the dark ages). Those books look like sales, but really aren't. And indies, beware big distributors. I have a fellow author near me and she has yet to collect her royalties after five years from B & N. The small bookstores around here are very indie friendly.

Janet, that romance could be an older couple who both have gardens in their backyards and they begin talking to each other over the fence.
Pretty sure the next SS will be after the first of the year. I have entered chapters from previously posted work. Of course, they were edited and I hoped better than the originals.
Wow! I just came from my writer's group, and today they were rabid. They were really unhappy with a character in the fourth Hillbilly Hijinx book--For Richter or Poorer. I wish some of you would read it and I could get some more feedback from you. It's on site.
