Guys and gals, I'd like your input on long sentences. Some folks seem to have a hard time if there are more than seven words in a sentence. What do y'all think?

Thanks, Sol. That could be an issue for some of us.

Janet Reid! Hey, we're twins now!!!! I knew you were a soul sista! And both of us are redheads. I guess I'll now exit stage right to my life where I spend my days trying to uplift people and find myself rewarded on multiple levels.

Guess you might, for now, have to type the word/sentence and then comment on the comment. It makes sense, and it becomes a pain. I still want the comment box to the side rather than over the text.

Glad to have you back, Bimmy. Might I suggest joining the romance group. I think there's one for steampunk too.

If you click on the already highlighted text, you can comment on the inline review. It will show up underneath the review comment.

I refuse to comment. I'm just going to sit back and read. But I MIGHT start finding nits in the posts.

Chrome on my desktop has had a bug of its own infect it. Not on my laptop. Not sure if uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome will work for you, but it did on my laptop. I cannot paste from Word if using Explorer, only Chrome.

Pamela, go to the most recently posted chapter and go to the drop down arrow. The older ones should be there. As a matter of fact, when a new chapter is posted and I go to the piece I have marked to read, it always starts with chapter one and I have to drop down to find the latest.

Karin! How did I forget Lady Hawke?????

Bellieve it or not, I've never seen Wall-E.

And, Linda, I watch While You Were Sleeping every time I see it on. How did I miss that one. I told y'all my list wasn't complete.

Vern has a good suggestion. Tom, we used to be able to do that with word tags on the old site.

Not necessarily a bug, but a request. There really needs to be a genre of romantic-suspense. It is a huge market that is neither purely crime and mystery nor straight romance (or sexmance, as some tend to be.)

I think I've decided to begin with the repost of Wilted Magnolias as my next story on site. It's still romantic suspense, but no cops as MC's . A bit more intense romance.

Janet, how old are your kids? My daughter and I have read everything aloud, taking turns so our voices don't go. She has been a huge unofficial editor. If you read the acknowledgements in Lucky Thirteen, you see what I mean.

My friend has this problem with his iPad. Since I don't have one, so I have no suggestions. This is a case where the problem needs to be reiterated several time because it is obviously a concern for many.

I find it very beneficial to read my material aloud. I find things I would miss otherwise. Does anyone else do this? One benefit of being in a flesh-and-blood writers' group is being able to read aloud. What do y'all think?

smile I know that it is sometimes tedious to wade through several comments to a thread, but at the same time, it might behoove each person to at least scan previous comments in order to preclude repeated or very similar thoughts (unless feeling the need to reiterate). This would also MAYBE put a stop to comments that become argumentative. Give and take is a great part of this site, but when the thread takes on the guise of bickering, I cannot see its usefulness.

I am deleting all my comments off topic after this. But since this one was actually on the topic Vern & Tom mentioned, I'm leaving it.
