Each genre category in the contest judged its admissions and awarded critiques and a professional developmental edit for the top three entries. The single entry with the highest cumulative scores claimed the overall prize.

"LADY SILVER: Warlock Chronicles, Book I," jumped into the fray in the Science Fiction category. Our warlock heroine with the silver aura rose to the top of the heap, claiming the third-place prize in her sci-fi category.

The first in a four-part series that melds magic and science fiction, author Bobbie R. Byrd is working feverishly to get LADY SILVER into publication. Updates will be posted on https://brbyrd.com , so bookmark the site and check back often!

Wow, what timing. I was looking for a site like that. I just very well may have to bookmark and explore it.

Congrats, Mizz Byrd.

Congrats, Mizz Byrd.

Thanks, SB!

I joined it a while back and haven't really done much there. When I got the notice about the contest, I figured "what the hell." The critiques I got from the judges of the contest are really good, however. So I'm thinking I may need to take a second look at it. One can never have too much input.

Congrats, Bobbie. And I'm glad you finally got to brag about it here. Do you know if they accept quirky half-SF/half-fantasy? Asking for a friend (heh).

My momma always said it was bad manners to toot your own horn. But I was sorta proud of myself, and figured, "fuck it.
I'm old. Go for it."  smile

Thanks, Rachel. I don't think there's a specific category for quirky half and half but I'm sure it would fit in one of the categories they have listed. There's a bunch, both fiction and nonfiction.

Old fashioned attitudes, in these days of the gig and hustle economy, not to mention 13% unemployment and competition for jobs not seen since the 70s. Toot away.

Around here, there are more jobs than people to take them. Guess you just gotta know where to look.  smile

Congrats Bobby! The story has a lot of potential, that was evident from the first time you published it here.
