Anver's Foundering happens in a shielded containment jar.  The timing isn't something that I took into account.

Moving on to the next chapter...

K likes to see them bleed. It makes his heart happy.

Withdrawl corrected. The updated chapter 18 is up titled, 'Zylph.' I corrected the deficit in Tazar's perspective instead of glossing over it. The activity in Straya is pretty much the same. Anybody have time to let me know what you think? If anyone wants points, tell me I will wipe it out and repost.

NJC, Anver's story starts after Kha abandons the Mage Academy and starts up about two weeks before Kha returns.

I'll be back on track soon. Leaving the campground tomorrow, rain or shine.  Talk then!

Skip
It and write the next one. Then go back and do the one that is vexing you.

Kha and Airen kill the thunderbird, Kha gets healed, Sil comes back as a crystal dragon, and Jaylene is resurrected. All happen at the same time. The Wolves potentiate each other. Alone, Kha can only change the immediate area. At that moment, Kha, Airen, and Jaylene were affecting the world's timeline.

Dirk, I have to get to a hot spot to publish the chapters 1-8. Will get it done by Sunday. Pinkie swear!

Thinking. Haven't thought about this yet...

I'll rework that..

NJC,

Not in this particular situation. I went through a phase where I collected curses.

Bzzzzt.

Oh Dirk? A curse that involves ankles and ears...just imagine those two bits touching and you'll get the joke.

I meant 15 years.

Only if you plan on writing Merran's story for another five years. At this rate, I'll publish in 2030.

Guess I'm gonna have to write an Armageddon :-)

He lost that memory. However, if I can find a free moment, I'll write about one of the things he intuited from the clues. BTW, it's very useful to see where these details are leading you to guess about the overall plot.

Of the four questions you asked, 50% are right on the money. I just can't tell you which ones or you might stop reading:-)

My goal is something like Babylon 5. We'll see if I can make it happen.

I think you didn't notice them because Anver didn't. He just feels healthy and fit.

Wait till he realizes that Founders have an aura that makes worshippers of Behira more obliging. (Remember Kat's willingness to help Sil? This makes Katerin's relationship with him suspect. Did she fall in love with him or did the Founder make it happen?)

I'm gonna mess with him. Poor Anver...

Dirk,

There are several moments where Anver does things he couldn't do before (strength-wise). He gets better after the pneumonia and never coughs after a day of recovery. He had an unknown advantage when dueling Alina. He holds Katerin down w one hand when she resists taking Alina's wand. He has way too much endurance during their love scene. His batting scene in the crypt is never about endurance...only about being overwhelmed. There are other examples. Will try to remember them and get back to you.

That goes under your previous rule about continuity between books in your series. Sorry, but this is true. Only way out is to use a synonym.

FYI, I had the same problem when I called Jaylene, the Spear, instead of the Lance. That is why I switched her title.

I now have another to-do! Melayne, here I come!

Or maybe the Chronomancer...

Breathed into by god? Expressing and writing exactly what God intended as an expression of His will?

It applies to Dirk's book, certainly :-)

Guns. Definitely guns.

Drunks.
Pedestrians vs cars.
Drunk pedestrians falling.
Gunshot wounds.
Earned my paycheck last night.

Sorry, but you asked.

A

Got no writing done last night. But I have to say, the shift was interesting. What is it about the heat that makes people shoot shit? I mean, come on guys!

Back to the coal mines for more...

OK, if Melayne has to sorrel Pengrit because she might reveal the gems that she carries, then I find myself condemning Melayne even more.

Here's the reason. The gems are made out to be important. Melayne hides the gems from the sorcerers on the same path. However, she choses the least competent and weakest of them (Pengrit) to sorcel. She doesn't magic the functioning sorcerers, limit them, bind them, or isolate them in random worlds. She choses a child and runaway to bind, risking that child's life for selfish reasons.

You're going to say that I don't understand how important these gems are. If that is the case, then I want a good and firm reason to justify Melayne's actions. The end of the world as we know it. The death of her only child. Destruction of multiple universes. That justifies binding Pengrit. However, it doesn't justify abandoning her. Giving the kid a sackful of gold, arranging for a family to care for her, taking her along to a trusted friend and having this person teach Pengrit…all of these are actions of a parent and responsible adult. Binding the kid and thinking, 'she can work as a drudge or a sex slave to survive…not my problem. It just matters that she is locked into this nowhere dimension and can't escape. Now I'm safe to carry these gems where they need to go."…this isn't the POV of a hero.

And I see Melayne as a hero. Did I explain it this time?

Waiting...!

I'm actually working on that tonight and tomorrow.
