TNBW is down to second place for Writers' Workshop. As is my Thriller novel, When the Reaper Comes. Janet Taylor-Perry's novel, King Satin's Realm (Novels, other), is down to 5th, and her novel, Wilted Magnolias (Mystery novels), sits in 3rd place. Only four more days to go. Support your workshop and its authors. http://critters.org/predpoll/ Only a few votes can make the difference.

Re: Chicago Manual of Style (18 replies, posted in TheNextBigWriter Premium)
When I've had grammar questions, the CMS and the AP manual of style often come up when I Google. And also sources that compare and contrast these two fonts of advice. So I don't subscribe, but it would save you time if you had the manual(s) at the ready. Is the time saved worth the subscription fee? Dealer's choice.

After you've voted, please check your junk mail file if you don't see the confirmatory e-mail (necessary to tally the vote). My confirmations come to my junk/spam box for some reason. The vote doesn't count until you've confirmed the e-mail.

RIP, Sonny. It's a shame many will never receive a review from one of the best.
My thoughts, exactly, Vern.

Topic: Sonny (15 replies, posted in TheNextBigWriter Premium)
Recently, the daughter of Archie Hooton, known as Sonny on this site, contacted me to tell me Archie had passed away. Suzanne thought that members of TNBW who interacted with Sonny over the years here might want to know that he is no longer with us, and I agreed to post this announcement.
I enjoyed his critiques of my work and reviewing his novel, The Reluctant Spy (available on Amazon). I especially got a kick out of the repartees between him and John Hamler. Witty, literate, and intellectual, he was an asset to TNBW.

You're the best, Randy! I'm now in first place alone for my novel and have moved up to 6th in Authors. Thanks to my TNBW community!
Thanks for weighing in, Sol. This would be a feather in your cap should TNBW win the Workshop category. And it would give creds to its members! P&E has been widely read and regarded. They're looking for a manager now to continue with the program. Hate to see them disappear from lack of a matrix of support. But the annual Readers Poll will likely continue.

TNBW is in 2nd in the Writers Workshop category, and there are only two entries so far. So a good chance to make our site a winner. Sol, marketing guy, pitch in, dude!
