Welcome to the site. Hard to find fault with your pen name.
I started your novel early this morning. It looks good so far.

Big smile and congratulations

Nathan, it's been a couple of days since the big storm. Did you stay dry and avoid getting blown away? I hope you're doing okay. My granddaughter and her family came here to escape the chaos in Daytona Beach. They headed back home today, but I haven't heard if they've got their power back yet. My friend rode out the storm in Siesta Key for some reason, but she's all good, just dealing with a bit of debris in her yard.

No problems here. Knock on wood quick! There's a new tropical concern near the Yucatan Peninsula. I think Yucatan can be translated to Destination Florida.
I'm assuming you got a ton of rain from Helene. Good to hear everything is getting back to normal in Georgia.
Enjoy your fall weather, old friend.

Thanks, Gacela. No problem here in the Florida panhandle, so far.

Hey dags,
I live in the Panhandle, so I'm thankful for that, and I need all the prayers I can get.
All my best to you.,

Morning, dagfoot

It doesn't look good, huh. Milton will come ashore late tonight on the sixth-year anniversary of hurricane Michael. They predict Milton will be a Cat 3 when it crosses the Tampa Bay area. And that's what scares me. The night before Michael hit us, the weather forecast was for Michael to be  a Cat 3. No worries for me when I went to bed. I've gone through four hurricanes in my life. But when I awoke early the next morning and turned on the radio, the forecast has changed. Michael would come ashore as a big Cat.4 and I had an hour to get off the beach before they closed the bridge. But they were wrong again. Michael was a strong Cat 5.

And their lies my concern. My brother lives near Tampa, and he's decided to ride out the storm God only knows why.

I have benefitted greatly by joining this site back in 2008. As we all know, getting family and friends to read our work is akin to pulling teeth, but the benefits go far beyond recognition. For me, I have learned more from reviewing and being reviewed than from any books on writing.
A few of you surely remember sarah-scotti. When I began posting A Gypsy Among Gypsies, she took me under her wing and helped me more than words can tell. Her encouragement was one of her many strong suits. Even when I wrote a flashback within a flashback, she patiently pointed out the problem, aka lameness, with that style of writing.

Users would not be able to post until they becoming a paying member. I actually don't think the trial works that well. I'd rather have people explore the site a a free member (who cannot post) and then when they are ready, upgrade and publish their work. That was the old site model and it seemed to work better.

I agree.

God bless you and Di.

MJ, it was shocking to hear this. We came onboard this website at the same time, and you are a dear friend. I don't know what to say, but I'll say this: I was told I'd never walk again without knee replacements. That was forty years ago, and my knees are still working.

All my best thoughts and hope for you,

Nathan

Sorry to hear this, Mike. You were one of the first writers I reviewed so long ago. You will be missed, and I wish you all the best.
Keep your chin up, and keep looking up, old friend.
