I'm a freelance writer/editor who has worked in the field of non-profit, education, and PR for over 20 years. As the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, I have grown up hearing the stories of the atrocities my family experienced first-hand during World War Two. Over the years, I have recorded these stories and am now working on a memoir of my grandmother’s life. This has been a labor of love for almost two decades! As a mother, it is my hope that the lessons and accounts of what happened to my family, as well as many others, be remembered and passed on.
This novel is less a Holocaust story and more a coming-of-age story that just happens to occur during one of the darkest periods in mankind’s history. I have seen how the psychological scars of such an experience affected not only a generation of survivors, but their offspring as well. This story is very close to my heart because it affects me on such a personal level.
Upon completion, I plan to use my novel as a learning tool in conjunction with an audio/visual documentary I’m hoping to make from recordings of my grandmother. I’d like to use these materials in classrooms and other educational venues to speak for a generation that is diminishing in numbers. I also feel these lessons are universal and apply to events happing in the world today.
I am also the mom to two beautiful girls. There is nothing more important to me than my family. They are my daily inspiration!
