I've done almost everything I've ever wanted in a long and adventurous life. My wonderful father encouraged me to write at least an hour every day starting from the tender age of nine. He also taught me the art of research when he would get together with his co-workers and dream up something weird to learn about, such as the social structure of an ant colony. It was a priceless education. If he were still with us, he would be delighted with the internet and our advances in space travel (he once met test pilot Al Yeager) and he would be proud that I carried the writing to the next step.
