I am a fifty-four year old single man who lives quietly with my beloved dog, Ozzy (that's him in my profile picture!)

I have been writing short stories and poetry since I was a young lad. I have some of my poems published in small circulation magazines but I primarily write for my own pleasure and entertainment. I did, though, self-publish a small collection of my work about twenty years ago, which I don't even have a copy of myself anymore! I would very much like publish again as I believe my work now is far better than what I was writing back then.

I like to write about people and situations. My stories are very much about characters and their lives. I have written on a whole range of topics and writr drama and humour, in both poetry and prose.

I like to read amateur writing, too. I give honest, cinstructive and  helpful, feedback and hope for the same with my own work. Some people have a problem with honesty: I don't. I believe it is dishonest and disrespectful to offer patronising platitudes - such as 'thank you for sharing' - rather than say what one really thinks. I will not and do not play that game.

I have joined the site to be entertained and to also entertain. I look forward to doing both :-)
