The only fiction I ever published was a story in my school newspaper when I was in 7th grade. Jack of many trades, master of a few. Ski instructor, ski patrolman (still skiing at my age. Am I nuts?). Raced one downhill. Came in third from last, because I crashed so hard I forgot I was racing and took several seconds to fill my sitzs marks. Navy midshipman, infantry private to infantry officer to medical service as MASH detachment commander, to headquarters company commander of the 8th Armored Cavalry. Passed over for Major twice so was discharged. It's best not to defy a higher rank. College wrestler. Lost both matches I was in, so I was benched. Maybe someday I can get back to 7th grade.
