Request from B Douglas Slack AKA 4.0

Mr. Slack requested I post this topic. On 3-18-24 he underwent a heart catheterization revealing four blockages which requires a quadruple bypass, unknown date. Bill served five tours in Vietnam and stated to me, "I've been in some scary situations but this one has my attention." His only request is as simple as it is profound, "Could you let TNBW know with a post? Prayers wouldn't hurt either."
Please let him know all our hearts beat as one.

UPDATE on 4.0

As of 3-22-24
Bill underwent surgery yesterday, is up and walking only because the nurse has a bullwhip and he has to. (Well, it is his story...) The surgery went well and gratefully, no surprises.   
The 4.0 reference? Bill is calling himself by code, to wit: The number of bypasses he sustained in this particular train wreck. Bill's sense of humor remains intact and is living proof prayers work wonders and serve to keep the elderly out of jail even if they have to run up and down hospital corridors with a nurse in hot pursuit wielding ancient weapons of war and cattle drives. Open heart surgery is brutal and not for the faint of heart. (Sorry, terrible pun.)

All kidding aside, Bill appreciates the long distance support and has lost his glasses. This writing family is awesome. Thank you for caring about our mutual friend.
