Way to go, Randy!
Many thanks!
Way to go, Randy!
Many thanks!
Excellent work! It is not easy to limit the words down AND still keep a great story. You should be very proud of the story and the accomplishment!
It was an accomplishment and hoping this will help me with future editing efforts when I need to trim things down. Many thanks!
Hi Cobber,
Many thanks. That's right, I read your comments this morning and they're greatly appreciated.
Regards, Randy
Many thanks, NJC. It was quite a challenge to maintain the integrity of the chapter while cutting it down so much. I figured it was good practice.
I'm please to announce that a short story I wrote, based on the first chapter of one of my ongoing novels, A Cartel's Revenge, has been selected as the winner of the August 2016 One-Page Short Story Contest held by the Wildsound Writing and Film Festival. No money, but it's been read by an actor and posted on the internet. I used chapter one's title, A Dangerous Occupation as the title for the contest.

Hello Sol,
The Kurdish Connection, workshopped on TNBW, will be published next spring by Moonshine Cove Publishing, LLC.

Completed a review of Cobber's "State of Vengeance', chapters 38 and 40.
Just left a review for Stefanie's 'The Day of Darkness' Chapters 16 and 17.
Well said, Jube. Back to my reviews.:)
Good luck Stefanie,
Hope to see you back with us in the not too distant future. In the meantime, will continue to review your story. Regards, Randy
Completed a review of Suin's 'Being Fifteen', chapters 13 and 14.
Completed a review of alkemi's 'The Souring Seas' Chapters 12 and 13.
Completed a review of Jube's 'The World Of Phyries" chapter 16.
Congrats! I'll have to really hunker down with my reading/reviewing to catch up.
Regards, Randy
Completed a review of CJ's "Raven's Curse" Chapters 15 and 16.
It's a tough decision. It can be a trade-off between working on your own novel when inspiration hits and reviewing other stories. I try to balance these, but it isn't always easy. I went back to April and it seems that every month I'm averaging four reviews, sometimes spaced out, others close together. So, am I getting a review done every 20 days? Give or take a day, yes.
I'll go along with whatever the majority want, but I think our current program is working well.
Hello Iris, and welcome to TNBW! All of the folks who responded above are very friendly and have been a great support to me since I joined a year ago. I know they'll welcome you and provide guidance. Will check out your work. Regards, Randy
Fully agree. The more time we can spend creating our stories and not fixing issues, the better. But that take times, and every review helps us along the journey to improve.
Hey Jube,
The percentages above seem similar to what I spent on The Kurdish Connection, although there are some days I would have changed planning and writing to 20% each and 55% for editing.:)
Regards, Randy
Many congratulations to the finalists. Good luck to all!!
Hi Cobber,
Many thanks! Yes, I've put a lot into this book and now the journey continues. In the meantime, I've started writing two more, although I'll probably work hard on one than the other but switch whenever I have 'writer's block.'
I'll be concentrating on your chapters so you'll be seeing more reviews from me.
Thanks again, Randy
Yardim edibilirmiyim (Can I help?)
Hi Stefanie,
Many thanks! Yes, it's quite a thrill. But I couldn't have achieved this without the great folks providing reviews and help. The A-O Group will definitely be listed in my thanks-yous!
