Thanks a lot, Jack. It was a difficult call. A cover is everything, but I also think I did it.

Many thanks to all the people who helped me to make it real. It feels like a dream come true. I feel so happy I could cry. Two year ago I started this adventure and now I've just published my first book. Feels soooo good.
Amber Eyes will be for free on May 6 and May 12. It's a young-adult, coming-of-age-with-paranormal-touches story. Hope you may enjoy it. I would really appreciate if any of you could download the book and leave a honest review in Amazon.
Many thanks to those who helped me deciding the cover, and many many thanks to those who helped me making this dream come true!!!

Thanks Ronald, good point. It will look like she was actually standing in front of the four and the camera lens focused on her and blurred the background.

Well, the sun glasses play an important role in the story. Kenny immediately understood they need to be on the cover, which I overlooked.

Thanks, Kenny. Excellent ideas! I loved the glasses. They're an important part of the story, And a good place where to write the title on dark background.

I will self publish. I won't go through the process of finding an agent, and then a publisher, and all that stuff. Call me impatient, but it takes ice ages only to get rejected, not based on the book's quality but based on your query letter's quality, which makes absolutely no sense. I can only think the grand JK Rowling and the greatest MG and YA saga of our times got rejected not only once but several times, to lose faith in agents and publishers and their ability to sniff a best seller.

Sure! Hope around May 15.

Amber Eyes will be published soon. In the published edition, I would like to acknowledge the support and patience of the following people whose comments were particularly valuable:
KHippolite
C.E. Jones
Nathan B. Childs
Don Chambers
R. M. Keegan
Sheriff Norm
cyeote
John Hamler
Lots of authors here were so kind to comment Amber Eyes during the last two years. I'm not saying that the comments of those not mentioned above were not valuable. All comments were important and I appreciate the time all the people dedicated to my novel. However, the comments of those indicated above were the most valuable of all and they were the people who followed me and stood by me until the very last chapter.
Kindly indicate whether you agree that I mention you. Also, if you wish to be mentioned using your TNBQ user name or if you wish to be mentioned using some other name, like a pen name under which you regularly publish or your even real name.
Kiss,
Gacela.
Contrats!!! Very well done. It's an amazing trilogy.

Even if it's not M.F.A. sessions, I think that live feedback sessions in the site would be great. If the site has the tools to connect everybody in a live chat at the same time, and assuming there's a moderator, I bet a nice and productive level of discussion could be achieved too. For example, groups of 5 writers meeting once on twice a week on 1 to 1.5 hour sessions discussion the work of one of them. This means that every 5 meetings your work is reviewed again. The group could meet for 25 weeks (roughly 6 months) or 12 weeks (3 months) depending on whether meetings are once or twice a week, which means that each writer would be reviewed 5 times. At the end of the time the group may renew for another period or dissolve. In the latter case the writer can join another discussion group.
The site can charge a fee for the usage of the site's technology and the moderator's time (if the moderator is provided by the site) and there can be a set of rules looking forward to make sure that value-add discussions take place. What do you think?

These are my thoughts:
1. The changes to the front page are awesome, generally speaking.
2. The thumbnail front-cover images do clutter the page a bit, but I think it's correct to have them there. As aspiring/consolidated writers we must start our marketing right from the very workshop process. A good cover is a must, even if it's only for this site.
3. The part showing our connections' bookshelves might be bit too much. I would suggest to put a button which takes you to another page where the bookshelves are shown rather than to clutter the front page even more.
4. The "Articles" and "Essays" part needs to be reduced to the last 5. It's not that people post articles and essays that frequently. BTW, in the case of articles and essays, I would eliminate the book cover thumbnail. Since they are not books, it's unlikely that there would ever exist a book cover for them, even if they are published. For those arguing that the same might be valid for poems and short stories--which are typically published as anthologies--I would answer that many of them do come with illustrations particular to the poem or short story within the anthology. The latter is seldom valid for essays, even the published ones. Articles... well, if they end up in magazines, many times there's an illustration, but it all depends on the article and the magazine. Anyway, I'd eliminate the thumbnail images for Articles and Essays looking forward to uncluttering the front page.
5. Connections didn't exist in the previous site. However, I'm sure that many of us developed some practical way to check whether the people we reciprocated with had published anything new. So, I wouldn't say that a front-page section showing what our connections have published recently is discouraging the reviewal of material posted by newbies.
6. The above said, I'm in favour or providing extra points to anything published by new member under 3 months. Also, I'd suggest to create a new section on top of the page (right below "New Writing to Review from Your Groups") showing the latest 5 works published by members under 3 months, despite whether they are novels, short stories, poems, essays, or articles. All this would increase the attention provided to newbies.
7. A good idea might be that, once a new person signs in, a sort of wizard pops up asking her whether she wants to post in the Premium forum introducing herself. The wizard can guide the newbie who can fill the blanks with her name/pen name, genre, preferred reading, published works (if any) and stuff of the sort about her literary preferences. Blank extra space for personal, optional info could exist too. In the previous site, those newbies who introduced themselves in the "New members" forum often received more reviews than those who didn't.

As promised I've just finished reading your novel. I never read it while you workshoped it here, which is sad because I missed a wonderful story. However, it's never late to right a wrong and now that I read it, I'm very glad I did. A nice book to read during sunset and early in the evening when the moon raises. A romantic story with a very particular touch. A story of healing and friendship.
I've already left a comment in Amazon and five stars. Contrats! Great story.

I've just downloaded it (sorry, for free). Gimmie two weeks to read it and I promise a honest review.

Hi all!
I'm new to the group and even to the genre. My thing is young adult, but I've just started writing this story about this "brotherhood" working on destroying the six dark angels who revealed against God at the beginning of time--the devil himself is their commander in chief. There's this high school girl whom the brotherhood assumes is a reincarnation of the seventh, elusive, and amazingly powerful dark angel (the only dark angel who is female BTW), so they start to plot, and act, against her. But they're not the the only ones, there's also a bunch of demons after her, should it be confirmed she is indeed the said reincarnation.
It's not gonna be as creepy as The Exorcist, like Phil said, not even close. Anyway, I want to create a sorta permanent, creepy atmosphere all through the story. Like the reader keeps feeling somebody is looking over her shoulder. Also, the MC should be both as "innocent" as a16 yo is expected to be, but also as malicious and calculating as a demon's reincarnation should behave.
Hope I end up writing something worth of this genre.
Kiss,
Gacela.
Making chapters not reviewable makes little sense to me. If somebody wants to read, but no to review, a bunch of chapters, she simply does it and starts reviewing wherever she prefers. Preventing chapters from being reviewed seems a bad strategy to ma in a site where we publish exactly for the purpose of being reviewed. I can't find a reason why I'd publish here looking forward to NOT being reviewed.

You may think I'm stupid, but there are a couple of issues that are not clear to me about this group (which otherwise sounds very interesting). You're talking about a virtual group, aren't you? The question raises because what you explained is a group which gathered three hours once a week, but TNBW group would be a virtual group, am I right?
Second: is the virtual group gathering 3 hours once a week. There are many ways to gather virtually, from a Skype conference (either video or only voice) to be sitting in front of your computer during the appointed 3 hours interacting via forum posts, emails, etc. Is there any plan to gather virtually at a given weekly hour/day?
I am not a full time writer. I work and travel quite a lot because of my job. I know that some of you folks are retired or are full time writers, which means full time dedicated to writing, but it's not my case. Some of you, who besides writing and working are mothers, fathers, caregivers, etc., will laugh in my face because I'm overbooked at 25. Call me a freak, but I don't want to ask to participate only to fail.
Based on your experience with that other group you hosted, How much workload does it represents doing all the reviews you're proposing, ballpark figure? One hour per day, two hours per day, one hour per week, two hours per week, etc?
Again, I wouldn't like to apply to participate in the group only to retire before it even starts. It would be rude. That's why I'm asking these many questions.
Kiss,
Gacela
Oh, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
