Happy to have you back, Denise. Really happy to hear the surgery went okay. That's what's in store for me if these steroid shots don't do the trick any more. According to my doctor, I have "De Quervain Tenosynovitis" in both my wrists. It isn't especially painful, but more of a steady pain that never goes all the way away. But, you probably know how that feels already, so I'll shut up.

Welcome back.

Bill

Hey Bill....I had basal arthitis surgery of my left thumb. They remove the damaged bone then replace a tendon from your forearm to cushion the bones. Cast for five weeks, then they remove the pin and I go into a brace. Kinda long recoup but I had to do it. I had constant pain and I was dropping things all the time. But on an up note I've had time for my writing and am almost done with Forbidden Paradise. Have also put together a query package and have had some positive responce.....Fingers crossed....

Have been off the site bc I had hand surgery a month ago, but am back again. Will start reading and reviewing again and have posted another chapter of Forbidden Paradise. Hope my readers will check it out. Have gotten quite good typing with one hand....lol  Denise

Is anyone familiar with Loose ID publishing? Yes or no? Pros or cons any info appreciated.  Thanks....Denise

Have been away from the site for a few weeks trying to cultivate this thing we call writing. A few of my readers have asked about new chapters and I just wanted to let them know that I posted a new chapter in Forbidden Paradise. Have had a few nibbles for this and Beyond Paradise, so I have been trying to complete FP and get it all together.

Anyway, just letting my readers know that a new chapter is posted and would love for you to take a look. Thanks and Happy Writing....Denise

BTW, Ann, I haven't realised you're the author of Strong Verbs, Strong Voice. I purchased that book time ago when I started writing seriously and it was sooo very helpful! Kudos.

Kiss,

Gacela

I also have that book and it is great and so very helpful....

Welcome Jonathan........Hope you find this site as rewarding as I have. Many good writers and reviewers here that give very valid feedback. My writing has improved greatly from the time and effort many of our members have shared. I write romantic suspense if you care to give it a look. (I have many male fans, so romance is not just for the ladies.....lol) Again, welcome and hope you enjoy....Denise

Hello and Welcome...

Thanks Jack....That is very true...

Nice job Janet.....Much luck

Hey Bill...Something that I wanted to pass on to you. Went to a seminar recently and they said to save all rejections as they are proof that you are a writer and you can then claim deductions for materials on your income tax....Small reward I know.

Also, as I'm sure you are aware, this is a fickle business. Had a very interested agent from one of the big ones court me since March with emails, phone calls and high praise. Even gave me her cell phone number. I know she read my full manuscript bc we discussed the characters in detail, only to have our final phone call two weeks ago with her telling me that she just didn't have a space for it, but wants me to keep her posted bc she really loves my story and my writing. Moral of the story, our end result was the same.....No representation.....

Am doing a big push this month and figure that by the end of summer I will be represented or I will self pub.....Know ppl that have done both with positives and negitives on both sides, so I am leaving it to fate with the knowledge that by Fall my story will be out there.....Denise

All good ideas Suin:
Simple things like;
What did you like about the chapter?
What could be improved?

And I'm sure your first reviews were genuine not just given to garner points...

Yup...I have a reviewer who gave three identical reviews for three drastically different chapters...Just kinda laughed and moved on since my helpful reviewers outweigh the fakers.....

Tamihanna.....I would suggest that you don't give up on this site yet. You prob need to do more reviews in your genre and develop a base with them. It takes time to gather reviewers, but it is worth it...

I just installed Grammarly and have been very pleased with it so far....But I would still suggest as Janet said to employ an editor before sending work out to agents or publishers. There's nothing like the human touch....

Seabass...Happens to me all the time. I have a 45-50 minute drive to and from work, so the car is my usual brainstorming place and yes many times by the time I get to work I've forgotten those great passages. Anyway, what I have done, since I'm driving is to record my words into my phone. I have bluetooth in my car so it's the equivalent of speaking on the phone and does not become dangerous. Obvs you can't be using your phone while you have a patient, but perhaps using this technique when you can will save some frustration.

Happy to hear that someone else suffers from this memory loss too......Denise

Nice job Rande.....Denise

Wonderful review...Good wishes for continued success

Sounds great Ann. It's just a little too soon for me

Hey Janet.....Just saw this and voted...And good news, as of a few minutes ago you were in the lead....Congrats....Denise

Congrats to all
