You can start an erotica group. There's no site prohibition against it.

Hi Gacela,

I'm game to try anything. In the short term, let's try this. Anyone who wants to sponsor a points contest can, as long as they are willing to offer up some points. So, if you had an extra 100 points and wanted to sponsor a contest you could do so and put them in the pot. Then, when you determine the winner, we'll do the points transfer. If this proves popular, we can build the transfer functionality.

If you want to sponsor a contest, let me know and I can set it up for the group. If more people want to do it, we can also create the ability for groups to easily create their own contests.

Hello all. Name's John Stussy. I'm predominantly a horror and free form poetry writer.

Welcome John. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hmm. It should have changed. I'll look into it. Thanks.

Just in case you don't know, I wanted to confirm the Strongest Start Contest is closed to entries. Let the judging begin...

Do people have trouble navigating the site? Is it confusing? I may blow up the whole navigation but before I do I wanted to get your feedback.

Thanks,
Sol

Hi Vern,

Isn't there a button to renew your membership? Have you downgraded? When it gives you a message to upgrade to Premium, isn't there a button to do it? Let me know and we'll check it out. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
Sol

Hi Jackie,

Welcome to the site! I can see that you started to post your story but didn't quite finish. There is no actual story there. I suggest you take a look at some of the videos we have on the site on how to post writing. I think they'll help you quite a bit. I also suggest you post your writing to TheNextBigWriter Admin group, especially at first, as this will get you the most views on your writing. If you watch the video, it will show you how to add Groups.

In terms of finding content to read, if you click the TheNextBigWriter logo on the top left of the page it will bring you to your homepage. There is a list of content to read there. Or, you can click the Read button at the top of the page and go to Groups Content. There is a lot of content to choose from there.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
Sol

We're looking into it.

Sol, have we fixed the 'subscription must expire before you can change the credit card' problem?  Mine had to be cancelled on account of fraud.

It should be fixed. Give it a try and let me know if you still experience problems. We tested and I haven't heard of any problems since.

You should just have to post again. There is no restriction on work that was entered in previous contests. New judges, new chances. I'll take a look.

Without a word limit, it is conceivable that someone could submit a whole novel. And as someone with nearly 2000 credits, I think it could easily be paid for.
Just sayin.

I'd say three chapters that are as long as an entire novel probably isn't the strongest start. I don't think such an entry would have much of a chance.

Hi Brad, enter as many as you want.

Hi all,

After a pause in contests, we're excited to announce the 2016 Strongest Start Competition. We've assembled a unique set of prizes that provide the winner with the opportunity to improve their work, get in front of a publishers, and promote their book once it is published. As in the past, one of our goals with the competition is to provide members of the site with an incentive to improve their first three chapters.

Great! Congratulations! We'll add it to our published list.

I find that I can no longer remove the "sticky" label from some group posts (Cop Shop and Mama, Trains & etc.) that have become seriously out of date. Is it something I said? Am I the only one who's lost the super power? How can the forums in my groups be updated?

There seems to be a bug in the forum and keeping it synchronized. I'm going to have this and the Laranice bug taken care of on Monday.

I'm going to take care of this bug. We'll make sure we clear requests from people who have been deleted. We'll fix it early next week.

Thanks for the alerts all. Laranice is no longer a member.

Welcome Kerry and Roy. Please let us know if you have any questions. The site looks forward to helping you with your writing projects.

Do we get notifications when someone responds to the comments we make in an inline review?
I know I get an initial notification when they respond to the in-line review as a whole, but if I then answer their comments to my comments in the inline, do they get notification, and do I get notification if they answer those back?

This is an area that definitely needs some work. I have been thinking about it and the best way to indicate that a new in-line comment, or multiple in-line comments were received on content. Thanks.

You might want to rethink the labeling of these functions in the group creation section. I was testing this yesterday and the descriptions are pretty vague and unclear.  It's no wonder everyone keeps asking for clarification.

Yes, you are right. This is something we can do pretty easily. Thanks.

At the moment, we're hiding our groups from everyone, including TNBW members, which doesn't make sense, but if nothing else, then we'll have to.

To be clear, your group is not hidden. It's visible on the Group listing page. The content of the Group is what is hidden. You can even keep the group signup public and the content of the group will remain hidden. All you have to do is set the Visibility flag to No to hide the activity of that Group and prevent non-Group member access to the forums.

Ok. Well, just set the visibility flag to private and the forum will no longer be accessible to those not members of the group.
