Hi Peter,

Welcome to the site! One thing I noticed is that you didn't post your first piece in TheNextBigWriter Premium. As a new member, you really want to post there first because it's the largest group and it's also a points group. Points are the currency on the site and if you don't use them you probably won't get feedback, especially as a new member. To read more about the points system, click the link below.

You can add your content to the Premium Group by editing your writing and adding it as a Group on Step 4 of the publishing process. It sounds like a lot, but it's pretty easy once you go through the process once. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Best,
Sol

Hi Marilyn,

There's a great conversation in the Marketing group about this topic.

People tend to come and go based on the time they can dedicate to their writing as well as what stage they are in - writing, editing, publishing, promoting, etc. I'd love to find a way to keep members engaged through all of the steps of the process.

Well, it's good that we try something new. The next competition will be a bit less challenging though smile

Congratulations! Good luck.

Nice job, Randy!

Great interview. Congratulations!

A follow up to this conversation. I don't agree with his views on self-publishing but his experiment was interesting.

Interesting idea. I'll look into it. What about to-do related to book?

Is the criteria too challenging? If so, we make it a bit more open.

We haven't had a mystery contest before and so I liked the Locked Room concept. I would have done the fanfiction angle but I know some writers like to submit their contest entries for publication, and that wouldn't be possible with fanfiction. So, I added two other criteria. I hope you find the contest challenging and fun.

We certainly look forward to reading them.

Aaaaaaand, Sol's thread is effectively hijacked.

Yeah, that's okay. I've gotten the feedback I was looking for smile.

How about a closed room murder that must also combine two fanfics that would never go together? I'm liking the idea.

What is a locked room mystery?

Thanks Jack and everyone. Keep the voting going for TNBW and our authors!

Thanks for the great feedback jhayward! I'll take a look at each of the points you mentioned.

Hi Tom,

I agree with the advice you've been given. I'd republish it as a new book. I think that's the cleanest way to go.

Hi Nita, you are in the right place. The genre doesn't really matter that much. It's more a guide for your readers. If you were to put the book up on Amazon or in a bookstore, what genre would you choose? Where would you place it?

I also noticed that you have posted your chapters as separate books. They can all be posted as one, which keeps iyour chapters together. There is a video on posting which might prove helpful.

Congratulations! We'll add the books to the TheNextBigWriter Bookstore.

I'm working on it! Everyone, please cast your votes.
