Topic: Chicken Soup

I just sold my 15th short story to "Chicken Soup for the Soul" for their Mother's Day book coming out in May.  But the really good news about this particular edition is that "Chicken Soup for the Soul" is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their books to worthwhile non-profits, and this time they've chosen one near and dear to my heart, the American Humane Society.

The "Chicken Soup for the Soul" book series of over 250 titles has sold more than 110 million copies in the U.S. and Canada.  They've been translated into 43 languages, published in over 100 countries, and have sold more than 500 million copies worldwide.  Retail sales exceed $100 million per year in the U.S. and Canada.  Total worldwide retail sales have exceeded $2 billion.

In 2007, USA Today named "Chicken Soup for the Soul" one of the five most impactful books of the past 25 years.  In 2008, they became the best-selling trade paperback series of all time.  In 2008, "Chicken Soup for the Soul" began distributing its books in the U.S. and Canada through Simon & Schuster.
Since 2009, the number of stores selling "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books has expanded from 9,000 to over 30,000, including Barnes and Noble and every Walmart across the country.

Because I've written for them for quite some time now, I'm always delighted to get their email to ask if I have a story for them for an upcoming book subject.  But I like it even better when they return a copy of that story to me with a big ACCEPTED stamp across the top!

Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news.

Re: Chicken Soup

Hey, Sweet Pea
Congratulations! I haven't read their series. But I see it on the shelf all the time at Barnes & Noble. I'll have to give it a-looks-see for the Mother's Day release
