Topic: WHAT PUBLISHERS DO YOU USE?

"The Loves of Rhiannon" just needs one more go through and it's ready to go. "Sword" will be ready in a few months.  So I'm asking for which publishers have you all used?  I'm making a list and would love advice, especially from any of you who made more than the cost of publishing from your work.  And it would be useful for other writers to share.  Thanks, in advance.  Rhia.

Re: WHAT PUBLISHERS DO YOU USE?

Submitted mine to Moonshine Cove Publishing, Rhia. No answer at the 4-week mark. They state clearly that it may take up to 6 weeks to respond.

You could probably get published here;

I think that several authors from this site have successfully published at BS.

Best, Will.

Re: WHAT PUBLISHERS DO YOU USE?

I'm constantly amazed why writers want to go with a publishing company and make 8-40% on their books when they can self-publish and make 70% and maintain control. Each to his own, I suppose. :+)
If you're determined to go with a publisher, you might check out Copper Pen Press. They don't accept every genre but I know the man who owns the company and he's a good person.

Good advice Ann....I have my work out at many agents and editors that have actually requested my work and am still in limbo....Giving it till the summer and then going rogue...

Re: WHAT PUBLISHERS DO YOU USE?

CreateSpace works well for me, then post to Amazon Kindle.  It's fun when you get that first book in your hand with your name across the front and down the spine.  No charge to set up your book.  It's a Print on Demand company; it prints them as you sell them.  If you can't make your own cover, I suggest www.fiverrr.com and put in a request for bids on your cover.  Tell the designer what you want, and you can make changes if you don't like their work.  You will pay anywhere from $10 to $75, depending on who you choose and what you want.  Your biggest deal will be with marketing.  The better you market, the more you sell.

Amen. I have a really good fiverr person who does covers. You can find her here: https://www.fiverr.com/rachelbostwick
She did my Chirp cover and was super easy to work with. She lives in the Texas Hill Country.

Re: WHAT PUBLISHERS DO YOU USE?

Thank you so much for your valuable information.  I am at this place also.  I have checked out many publishers which cost an arm and a leg.  Self publishing for me. My next step is to check out Create Space.  Nita
