Hi! I'm a retired professor of social policy. I've published two non-fiction books, the first on crime victim compensation and its correlates and the second on junk social science and its effect on social policy.
I'm recently retired and just trying my hand at writing fiction. I've got as much to unlearn from my prior experience as to learn, and I beg you to bear with me for at least a little while.
I'm fairly decent at editing other people's work, although there, too, most of my experience is with non-fiction. I've also worked and lived among diverse groups of students and faculty, and am now finding that I can pick up on (and hopefully write one day) accurate idiomatic speech.
Other than writing and, of course, reading, I love rock, folk, jazz and blues music, with a particular interest in protest music (or the music of social change, refer back to my profession above). I'll devour anything you write on those topics, and will, whether you like it or not, correct or fill in any gaps in your musical knowledge.
I've finally added a picture taken with a Writer's Best Friend.
