Okay, here goes. I am a stay at home mom. I used to be gainfully employed but now I answer to a preteen and his little brother. I have been reading since I was three and writing since junior high. I have always written but now I have my first completed novel. It is the kind of book that if I had picked out for myself to read, I would have lost sleep because I would not have been able to put it down. The whole process of finding a literary agent (or at least crafting a query letter that does not get tossed) is harder than childbirth (at least with childbirth I could see the payoff:) I am happy to find a site where I can compare notes with others in the same boat as me. My favorite books to read are compelling memoirs/true events, Stephen King's earlier works (loved Salem's Lot). I read The Last Lecture last year and absolutely had to reevaluate my attitude. If anyone who is going through what Randy Pausch went through can have that attitude, then there should be more smiles on people's faces. I loved The Lovely Bones and I hope that the movie does get developed. My favorite book of all has three others that go with it - The Twilight Series. Yeah yeah, I know, I'm not a teenager but Stephenie Meyer did say she wrote it for herself and she is my age so technically... So that's it in a nutshell. Well, at least as much as I am willing to post online anyway. I hope you enjoy what I post.
