Imagine m surprise when I was presented with a two year old at the ripe age of 56. While I always prayed, wanted, wished and prayed for a little ole girl child, never in my wildest dream did I figure God was going to answer my prayer in my dottage. My days are filled with potty training, food, playing, food, dance lessons, pre-school, reading children's books, saying "No! Don't do that!", hugs and kisses. Wow. Life has a whole new meaning. Insead of sitting back and resting on my lauerls, I find myself wondering what is appropriate behavio these days for a four year old. How to react when a little one is sick. Where do you go, who do you see, what do you do? And then there is the issue of finding out that the little one is totally deaf in her right ear. Totally. Nothing can be done except protect her left ear and pray for the best. Not much time left for housework and other important things like serious cooking or cleaning floors!
