Robert Whitman Profile

I'm a late bloomer, compelled in mid-life to write the stories in my head that have nagged me through the years. I have served our great country honorably with 6 years in the military. Won the Georgia Occupational Award for Leadership at my local college back in 2002. These are but two of my scant accomplishments to date. I am proud of them both. Mostly, I am a working stiff, regulated to the middle of the pack. I am 48, Black and proud. The shrinking world economy and disappearing manufacturing base here at home have forced me to make assessments. I view my need to write as carthartic. I consider myself a happy man. Life in America is a magnificent blessing. Just a few idle thoughts. It's time now to write.
