Nicki Hansen Profile

I've been compelled to write ever since junior high but never thought of it as a potential career (no role models or strong encouragement for another 20 years), so I never thought to study it or otherwise prepare. When I did seriously try to write I did so in self-teaching mode. I gave up on short stories when they went out of favor and decided to see if I could sustain my efforts long enough to write a whole novel. It took five years to complete, but I did it. It wasn't good but I did it. I've written 3 others since, each better than the one before, in my opinion. "Coming Up for Air" is my fourth, and I think has the most potential, which is why I submitted it to Strongest Start. I've been unable to get back to a writing routine for a long time, and hope being part of TNBW will help me get there.
