And here we see a fantastic example of the Lesser-Spotted Aspiring Writer. Though a common sight on many internet forums, very few will grow to maturity. Bottom of the food chain, these poor defenceless creatures are hunted by a whole host of predators. Against all odds, battling Lethargy, Writers block and even the occasional Troll; these stoic animals fight day and night to put the idea's in their head onto paper for the world to enjoy. But for every one that succeeds, thousands will fall by the wayside, such is the cycle of life.

Hi there and thanks for taking the time to read all of this, (hopefully in the voice of David Attenborough). My name is Luke, and as I expect you'll have gathered by now, I am an aspiring writer. I have been writing ever since high school, with varying degrees of success. The occasional competition, but mostly just for pleasure. On the whole I have written mainly short stories, 2000 words or less, but for the last four years I have been working on a fictional world which I would like to base a series of novels in. I have had three draught attempts at getting the story and format right. Each time I wasn't quite happy with the setting or characters I had chosen. Thanks to those draughts I now have most of the first book completely mapped out and I am ready to forge ahead with actually writing the damn thing.
