Heath Kingston Profile

42 yrs old, engaged to a beautiful mad malayali girl, the Son of a diplomat raised in New Delhi India and Darwin, Far North Australia - the formative years. After dabbling in theatre and the humanities through schooling, I joined the Navy at 18 and served 4 years as a Weapons Technician, billeted to two Destroyer Escort Warships based in Perth Australia, both in the process of decommisioning. Fun times. 

Upon discharge I cashed in my super and spent 1995 travelling through West and Eastern Europe before deciding to settle in Hobart and pursue an Arts degree, eventually majoring in English Literature and History with a minor in Philosophy, along the way studying for 4 weeks at a Tibetan University in Sarnath, India - the site of Gautama's first sermon where he lectured on the Four Noble Truths.  

Leaving Uni in 1999, I fell in love with a delusion and at he same time threw myself into the world of electronic dance, quickly gaining local recognition as a techno DJ and collaborating on projects with Arts Tasmania, youth theatre groups and party afficionados. 

Becoming a very good DJ very quickly, alongside the previously mentioned poisonous relationship resulted in excessive hard drug use and slowly downward centrifugal force and finally a breakdown,  from which - with the love and help of my family and fiance I can say I have recovered to a position where I hold down a career and have reinvigorated my love of reading and writing. The written word is a lifelong passion of mine; I can recll reading my father's paperback political thrillers at the age of seven and thinking to myself that THIS is something I want to do.
