I'm disabled veteren from the first Gulf War. I served in the Coast Guard for 13 years until I became ill with a virus that I picked up from the Haitian uprising. I eventually developed type 1 diabetes. I am almost 49 years old and despite my plight with this disease leaving me functionally unable to walk and losing vision in my right eye. I have decided to use my imagination to overcome my dilema. I am a very slow writer because my hands and eyes don't work well. But still I move ahead with every stroke. If you stop moving you fall behind.
