I live in Northwest Arkansas with my husband Alan. Although we have no children, we do have two cats who own us. I'm originally from Memphis, Tennessee. My father, a cop and dreamer decided to pull up stakes and move the family to Alaska. He wanted to write the great American novel and live off the land. As it were, he never got his book published. He passed away in 1984 from Cancer. Even though I enjoyed writing short stories and poems growing up, it wasn't until I was close to thirty when I realized how much I enjoyed it. I didn't get too serious about it until a few years ago when it hit me time was rolling by and here I was, just letting it roll on. I have five novels in the works and a variety of short stories of different generes and lengths. I wanted to dip my toes in each genre and see where each one will take me. I couldn't seem to get them finished and I think I know why. Since I first wrote my bio, a few things have changed. For one, I've found my niche in what I like to write. In 2013, I redicated my life to Christ. I believe that my way of telling of His love for us all is to write, so now I only write Christian Fiction, Christian Historical Fiction, but I have an avid interest in all things Historical, and mainly in the area where I live and have lived. "Write what you know" is what I've been told and read for a long time. I enjoy the research and where it takes me, which has been a three year trek so far and still on going. I also participated in National Novel Writer's Month in 2007, '08, '09 and 2010. I have many interests and am curious about a lot of things. I have a digital camera I take with me just about everywhere. I am an avid reader, a book-aholic. My husband cringes when I go to the library, of course now that's research material, historical fiction and anything that proclaims the love of Jesus Christ. Will I fullfill my father's wish of becoming an established writer? Maybe, maybe not, as long as I tell people about Jesus and salvation in my writing and give God the glory, that's all I want. If someone finds Him through my work, then it's been worth it. It's God's will that people come to Him and ask for salvation and then to tell others. That's why I write now.
