Profile Information

I started out on the east coast in New England, earned my teaching degree at the University of Pennsylvania, taught 4th grade for 2 years in PA, got disgusted with crowds and rude drivers so I went west. There I worked on several ranches as a dude wrangler, sheep herder, buffalo gal and ranch hand. I married one bosses' son in WY. We moved to Alaska in 1969 where we had two sons and a daughter. My husband worked 20 years for Atlantic Richfield and BP on Alaska's North Slope as a supervisor. Jim came down with fatal leukemia, myelodysplasia low white cells, in 1989. Told to go home and die, we went to Athens instead where Jim was cured by Dr. Alivizatos. I taught grades 3-6 at a large private Christian school in Anchorage, 1974-1976. In '77 we moved to our own airstrip in Kasilof on the Kenai Peninsula. I taught speed reading for 10 years as a volunteer at our kids' private Christian school in Kenai. Now that the kids are successful, well employed college educated adults, I have engaged in my passion, writing.
