Two years ago, a student of mine gave me a very simple gift. It was a smooth, grey pebble with the word "Joy" etched on it's surface. He told me that I brought joy into the classroom everyday and it was his way of saying thank you. I always remember that student and what he taught me that day. There are so many people in the world who are without joy in the work that they do. Though teaching has provided me with much happiness, it is literature, the reading and writing of it, that brings me the most joy. So I am here to find my joy. I'm a 28 year old woman attempting to find joy in the chaotic world around me. I don't believe peace is possible, but I do believe joy is.
