“Traces”
Allow your hands to trace my face
With soft gentle fingertips
Linger lovingly and long
Committing all lines to memory
My earthly portrait on display
Lest I become a mere shadow
Left to languish then ebb away
Hold my essence deep within
Sweet sachet of days gone by
Where dust nor cobwebs can erase
Glimpses of what used to be
Our days, our nights, our loving
Stashed in a dark dingy drawer
What once was your love for me

Flo, your poems always bring me such peacefulness. I think of my mom mostly when I read this. She's slowly slipping away but her face is engrained in my heart.
Thank you SO much for reading this! It is a very personal piece as my hubby and I had only been married a couple of years and only met and married four plus years ago and we are not young!!! He is perhaps the best thing that has ever happened for me. He is a gift! To be adored is kinda nice :D I am sure in his mind he IS tracing my face.. :D We hope to have many years together!
Again.. thank you and I'm thrilled it touched you.
Behind on reviewing and getting use to new site has been tedious for me. Will catch up on your work.. :D

Hi Flo
Perfect poem again! But don't stash things like this in a dark drawer ever!
Ok, I'm stuffed now. I need fifty words or five lines. I have 0 lines, so I now have to blah-blah until I get to 50 words because dammit, I want the points for this review. Done!
Cheers Janet R
Haaaa... I know! So few points for poetry. I wish that would change as feel it would increase reading of poetry. I would gift you points as with over 11,000 I would have to write..
"The New Testament... According to Flo" or a set of encyclopedias :D
I so appreciate your reading and so pleased if here and there one touches your heart
or makes you smile ... sometimes laugh!
