Hi all,

I wanted to remind members that TNBW authors also receive free Booksie membership valued at $69.95 per year. To help members get the most of Booksie, I've also created a TNBW group on the site. If you are interested, register with Booksie and let me know your pen name. I'll upgrade your account.

I'm having trouble signing in using the link you provided. The pop-up message states, "invalid email or password." When I try to join, it states, "Email and pen name already exist." The pen name is S.L. Garber-Ortiz. Perhaps you can override it on your end.

It looks like you created an account but it wasn't active. I have activated it and you should be able to login with our email and password. Then, you should be able to join the group. Let me know if you still have problems or need your password reset.

Hi, Sol,
I joined Booksie a while back, but have seldom used it because of the whacky responses I got in the past... "Good job" doesn't help me when I'm looking for more precise growth comments on my writing. But I'm on there as Marilyn Johnson. Please let me know how to find the TNBW group because I don't want to lose contact with my friends that I've had since I joined in 2008.  This site has been 'home' and I'm sentimentally attached to it, but it's time to move on since the traffic here is nominal.

Also, one more question:  will anything in our portfolios here transfer over to Booksie?  I've got a lot of work here... yes, I learned my lesson during the Crash of '23, but most of my titles were recovered.  So, should I transfer my things to Booksie, or will it automatically be put in my new portfolio?

Marilyn, I highlighted your question to Sol above. Hopefully, he'll check into this thread fairly regularly and see it.

To get to the TNBW group, click on the first link in Sol's original post to this thread above. I tried to find it by searching for both TNBW and TheNextBigWriter and neither yielded a result. It may be because it's a private group.


Sol or Bill, how do we get to the TNBW group from within Booksie itself (i.e. assuming we don't have your original link above)?

Everyone, please use Sol's initial link in the first post of this thread to go over to Booksie and become a member of the TheNextBigWriter group. That's how we'll find each other over there.

For the moment, the above link is the only way I know to get to the TNBW group; it's private, so it doesn't show up in the list of all groups.

See Sol's first post to this thread if you need an account there or want to take advantage of his offer of a free one-year membership with Booksie.

I mentioned at the beginning of my thread that Sol hasn't made a decision. For now it's about trying to figure out how best to exist on Booksie, hence my thread. Personally, I'd suggest not being among the first handful of people to jump over unless you're okay working with a work in progress (i.e., a suggested workflow for TNBW members). In that case, I'd ask that you provide feedback in my Booksie thread about what works for you and what doesn't).

In the meantime, people can continue writing and posting on TNBW. If you want to dip your toe in the water first, post to both sites for a while. That was my plan.

Though I set up an account in Booksie a few seasons back, I am not a full-fledged Premium grade member. So, will I be picked up as a premium member?  Or do I need to join under a new name?  My email is attached to the current Booksie account, but I never paid for any kind of membership... so, I guess I am a nothing... poor, pitiful me!  LOL!
