I had a cool theological discussion with Gemini tonight, where we discussed a fictional return of Christ as a child. In that context there really is no way based on the bible to rule out the Lord returning as a child. For example, he could come back as a child, grow into a man, and then fulfill all the expected prophecies. Wording such as him "returning on a cloud" can easily be interpreted symbolically as him "returning in some supernatural way", not necessarily riding an actual cloud. One quirk is that everyone going to heaven will have a physical body. Perhaps the new heaven should be an actual planet (e.g., a second Garden of Eden).

1. Why not just have him grow at a fast rate as you suggest? Can you accomplish everything with that?
2. We will probably be 4D creatures. Jesus traveled through a wall in Acts. We should be able as well. We will have bodies but different than what we have now.
3. Perhaps a cloud of glory. Lots of light, flashes of lightning, etc.

Really? Wow. I'm impressed with this alone. How much prodding did you have to do before it "understood" what you wanted?
Be careful! Are there digital demons lurking about AI?

That's pretty funny... he has a sequel 25 years after that one.

I would think by the time I get to the end of book three, if you've read that far, you probably enjoyed the trilogy enough not to worry about any leftover discrepancies that I couldn't (or chose not to) explain away.

Thoughts?

Not sure about this one. Sure, do the figurative as mentioned. That gives lots of leeway. I wonder if you will lose some people based on how far you stray from the truth (figurative or not).

I have a question about an alternative way for Christ to be reborn. Rather than the story claiming that he shed his old human body to enter the newborn one, I'm toying with having someone (probably Connor) eventually explain that, he kept his old human form (which many Christians think he would never separate from) and that he also entered a second body as well (i.e., Connor). That would mean anything Christians currently believe about the return of the adult Christ will be unchanged and won't need explaining. All I add is that he is simultaneously present in a second human, which of course is just a lie.

Since I put the story on a different timeline, I can of course change anything I want, including having the adult Christ shed his original human form to be reborn. But I'm wondering if it would be more believable that his spirit also entered a second body, much the way the Holy Spirit exists in the bodies of all Christians. That would mean most (all?) of the existing prophecies in the Bible would still be true.

George/K, what do you think?

I know I'm late but I will comment anyway. I like the comparison with the Holy Spirit. There is a pattern and hence Connor can claim a similar pattern. I also like the it's-all-a-lie-anyway approach. You're right. You can say anything you want.

Congratulations Dirk! Great job. How many of these contests have you won? Or placed?

George FLC

Very appropriate since it's Super Bowl Sunday!

We got hit with cold and snow that I'm sure it's not as rough as you guys get way up north. And I just got up from a nap and had some coffee! I'm ready to go!

Keep it all consistent. Use supernatural. If he is supernaturally efficient then he won't need to eat much to achieve muscle mass. But he probably won't poop much! :-)

Comments:
1. Rat Pack is common. How about the Magliana Gang. This was an Italian Gang that ended in the 1990s. Or Magliana Group. The Vipers would be good, too.

2. Can't he lift up his hand or point and rebuke violence and hatred? This could knock over the leader without Connor landing a fist on him. Everyone could look at him with - what just happened? He could look surprised as well. This kinda sorta happened when a bunch of guards came after Jesus in Gethsemane. They all fell backwards when Jesus identified himself.

How about pastor? Or sister for a nun? Father for a priest should be capped I think.

I asked AI Chat about nun or Nun, and it has 6 comments, the last two were interesting:
1. Cultural Variations: Different cultures or languages may have varying rules regarding capitalization.
2. Consistency: Always maintain consistency in your writing regarding capitalization rules.

So, make sure you know what the language and cultural rules are and be consistent. That's tough. Do Canadians, Brits, and Aussies have different rules for caps than Americans? :-)

Welcome aboard finger0126 and Greg.
This site is great if you use it correctly.
Have thick skin. People will make comments about your work that you might not appreciate, so keep what makes sense. But remember that you have to like your story at the end of the day. That was some advice given to me.
Do the contests. They're great.
Put info into your Profile. I want to know what your genre is and if you have a tech background or history or whatever.
I like pen names.

Again, welcome aboard

Funny thing. I forgot that, in American English, a rumble usually involves gangs/groups. So now I'm trying to decide if I should keep the rumble/rumbly terminology. I'm leaning toward keeping it.

I'll go with Sir Remington (Rummy) Rumblebottom IV. It's unused. And that gives me Sir Rummy, which is perfect.

Sir Rummy is good. But can Rumblebottom mean he has too much flatulence? :-)

So, figuratively speaking, do I have to remove my MAGA hat every time I come onto this website? Bummer.

Maybe Musk will buy Greenland and Canada himself. He'll straighten these things out, eh.

How about Rumblybottom?
:-)

Hey Dirk,
Sorry to hear that. Get better. Perhaps eat chicken soup. I'll try to add a chapter to your workload. Mental exercise is good right?

I checked and found a Reginal Rumblebottom.

Does that matter? I'm not a pro with copyright.

I aim for 1500 words but at times need more. I try to have a ceiling at 2000 words. Commuters who have a train ride to works or people with a short lunch hopefully can read a shorter chapter. Or right before going to bed. Of course, if it's a thriller or horror story maybe not before you go to bed.

A few days ago, Ukraine launched an attack with unmanned vehicles and drones against Russian forces. So, in the year 2024 we have now seen a robotic battle at least from one side. What will battles look like in the year 2500, or 3000 or beyond? And I have to wonder if AI will help to make the situation even more interesting. We will have all robot wars with people simply making adjustments to the battlefield? Therefore, we sci-fi writers might need to consider how we construct battles, farmers, doctors, factories, and a host of other things.

Dirk has a great taxicab driver, Leonardo. I'm not sure AI can do crazy yet. And I'll be disappointed to lose Leonardo to AI. However, it is a possibility.

Therefore, how do we keep ahead of all this? My initial thoughts are to reduce human head count significantly. But is that reasonable?

Any thoughts?

I just saw that picture! It's funny. I generally cut my eggnog with milk. It's so thick.

Eggnog is a weakness of mine. As are some other Christmas foods. Dieting starts today... I hope. Or maybe after the holidays.
Anyways, be blessed all with family and friends. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and definitely have a great New Year.

Ending upon ending upon ending. smile After Christ crowns Connor the Lesser King, he will also give Connor the title of Unholy Shepherd. The reason? Connor will not only be responsible for ruling all those newly occupied planets, but, infinitely more important, he will be tasked with helping his "flock" (the mortal sinners) get to Heaven. That was always the purpose of the other planets, anyway (i.e. try again!), but this change will make him both king and shepherd. Since the demons will be eliminated (sent into the black hole or to some nasty world where humans will be forbidden to go), things won't be quite as evil the second time around (until the demons escape - book 4?). Although Connor, his mother, and Romano will be among the immortals, the mortal sinners won't be, so there'll always be a need for him and his descendants, who will be incredibly long-lived beings. He'll also be the Immortal Sinner, although I still have to come up with a reason to give him that third title.

It's the real reason God chose Connor for the great deeds he has to achieve -- to prepare him for all of the above in the "afterlife". smile

Of course, once someone defies God and goes to the planet of the demons, all Hell breaks loose. Literally, lol.

Goodness gracious! This is challenging.
1. You almost seem to describe purgatory (helping his mortal sinner flock get to heaven). Make it more like purgatory. You might even want to call it that or a variation.
2. Satan will be released from his prison in Revelation 20:7-10 after 1000 years (you mention the demons escaping). He will lead one last rebellion and then go to hell.
3. Reforming the AC is still a question for me.?

I'm a little spacey so will stop here... where's my coffee?
