Welcome back, although does anyone ever really leave?  For me, sometime months can go by before I can get back to the story I'm working on.  Either way, I'm eager to see what you have cooking.  smile

I hadn't even heard of headhopping until I joined this sight and now that I am aware of it I find some of my older books hard to read.  I didn't know I was reading such poorly written stories. After working so hard on avoiding head hopping in my own I realize how confusing it can be for a reader.

Welcome Skip!  First I want to say that I love the meme, crass or not.  Second, I just read your first chapter and it is (in my humble opinion) very good.  It's nice to find yet another fellow fantasy writer.  I hope to be able to read more of your work soon!

Great job to all the finalists!

Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

OMG I know exactly what you mean Janet!  I have shelves of books that I've collected of romance novels (mostly by what were two of my favorite authors).  I say 'were' because now I'm not so sure.  I recently tried to read one again and it was hard to 'get into' the story because I was constantly looking for nits smile.  Then I tried to read the other author and now know why when I first started writing I had problems with head hopping!  It was all over in her book.  And I came to the exact same conclusion as you, a mixture of disappointment and hope.  Surely if these well known authors can get published then surely we can!  Now my goal isn't to be 'as good as' said authors but to be 'better than'.  I'm just not sure what to do with all the books on my shelves because I truly don't think I can ever enjoy reading them again...

Thanks for the update that now marks the materials we have reviewed!  No more searching through all the chapters to see where I left off!  Yay!

Thanks for posting this!  Some I've seen before; some was new to me.  Still nowhere near ready to submit my own, maybe next fall?

Hi Sol!  When trying to "publish and review" or "publish and post" my chapters the buttons for said choices don't seem to be working.  I'm using Google Chrome.  The content transfers over from my clipboard quite nicely but doesn't want to save to the site.  Is this a glitch?

Also, like Norm above I have a hard time just selecting one word for inline reviews.  I have this problem with both my laptop, desktop and surface.  Very frustrating.

My work around is to not select the whole word, but only the "middle" part. It then highlights the complete word automatically and works in general but obviously will still be a problem for 1-letter and 2-letter words. I use windows and google chrome.

Thanks Janet.  I've been doing that but sometimes if there are two paragraphs that should be combined it selects the whole chunk and then tells me I have a bad selection because there is already another inline in the paragraph selected.  I've been doing my best to explain to the author what I mean but it's just a frustrating technicality of the page.  My bigger concern is not being able to "submit and review" my writing.  So far the only way I've been able to publish work is using my laptop.  The funny thing is that they are both using Google Chrome so I really don't know what's going on.  Maybe a firewall issue?

On the other hand, if you don't review to get points you will never be able to post to the Premium group.  My question is, if I leave the TNBW free group I will still be able to read "free" content in other groups right?

Never mind the previous post.  I finally found it after a bit of searching.  smile

That makes sense, Sol.  I have an unrelated question though.  I think I might be confused on how 'shelving books' work.  I thought by shelving a book it would be like adding it to my reading list on the old site.  On my homepage, or anywhere really, I can't find a way to access the books I've 'shelved'.  Am I missing something?

If I want to delete my novels from the old site will that in any way affect the new?  I don't feel comfortable leaving my work lying around in an abandoned building so to speak.  Also, the one thing that was nice about the old site was the ability to see, roughly, how many views each chapter of my novels had.  Sort of gave me an idea of where readers lost interest.  Is there any way of checking that on the new site?

Does anyone else have problems posting from IE?  For some reason when I put a chapter on to add the "publish" and "preview" buttons don't work.  I select them and nothing.  I've refreshed but no luck.  I've posted chapters from my Surface but it doesn't copy nicely from the clipboard.  On my computer it copies nicely but now won't post.

I'm interested as well and would also like to know the cost.  Thanks!

Found another possible bug Sol.  In my points history page it says I should have 6.5 (which I accumulated through reviews I posted last night).  Now, on my main page it says I only have 2.95.  Any idea where my missing points went?

I'd be interested in a NaNo group.  Just finished my 50K!  So excited!

Put that way then limits are probably the way to go.  MzP, I think the majority of us are posting in the Premium site for now.  Once I start to repost that is where I will be.  I couldn't limit my book to a group unless it was generic, say "fantasy".  I'm not even sure it would fit in the YA group.  Like Sol said, all of your works appear on my homepage because I've connected with you and shelved some of your work that I am reviewing.  There isn't a limited on how many connections you can have is there?
My other question is what is Platinum Membership and how is it different from Premium (aside from being able to add more groups)?

You're definitions make sense.  I struggle with this myself.  I view the difference mostly by age, regardless of the issues in the book.  I would put my current book under NA but to be honest I am one (of probably a minority) that feels uncomfortable writing about intimate love scenes, preferring to let the reader's imagination run wild.   I know, sex sells, but I am trying to keep in mind that I want my daughter to be able to read my book one day without complete and utter embarrassment.

Just to clear my foggy mind, if a group is non credit, does that mean reviews don't receive credit either?  Or does it just mean that it doesn't take credits to post to the group?  I'm so confused...

Welcome Cobber.  Are you a new or returning member?  Don't think I've seen your name around here but there are some (myself included) that sometimes take long stints away from posting.  NaNoWriMo doesn't help this situation either. smile
