You guys can relax!!!! I'm only at Chapter 2 with the revision!!!! I'm not revising any faster than writing. sad

Amy, I definitely know you'll be okay even at your current pace, so all good!!!

Dirk, I'm not sure where you're at though. I can let you know when I'm done with a chapter.
Speaking of Dirk, have you posted a new chapter yet? I know I don't want to fall behind with the new revision.

On a unrelated note, we got a free turkey last week. So tomorrow we're cooking our first American Thanksgiving Chicken. Wish us luck!!! smile

And happy Thanksgiving to everyone (and a belated one for K and Dirk - I think Canada's Turkey Day was more than a month or so ago?)

Hi everyone

This is just to let everyone know that I've started revising Northern-Skies and will spend much less time on the site during this time. I'll still pop in every now and again, but it will be very erratic and for short periods of time only. Work is also not helping!

That said, I'm planning to use the time to also catch up on the numerous recip reviews I owe quite a few people! I haven't forgotten you!!!

Thank you for the support and understanding!

I'll be back soon with Book #2!!!
And missing you guys too.

Cheers
Janet

Hello! I just joined today and was so happy to find a Romance group! I adore romance. I've been reading it since before I was probably supposed to and it is my ultimate favorite to write. I'm currently working on a series on marriages of convenience. I love the troupe and so far it's going well! I'm really looking forward to being a part of this group.

Hi Jennifer, it's been quiet around here, but we're always lurking! Not sure if it's really quiet because of NaNo, or not, but we can be chatty when the mood strikes us. Let us know if you have any questions! Glad to have another Romance enthusiast!!!!

Hi everyone!
I don't write in the romance genre, but all of my writing contains a heavy dose of romance, so I hope that is acceptable.
I have a self-published ebook that is a YA western, ghost story with a sweet romance. How's that for a mix of genres? My WIP is a YA fantasy, also with romance. I'm looking forward to participating in this group.

Wha?!!!!! I turn my back for a couple of days and a heap of new members creep through the open front door?!

Welcome KM! That does sound like a good mix you have going! And no problem, we welcome people that write all kinds of romance and Romance! Don't be shy to start new threads and ask any questions you may have. We will try our best to help where we can.

Hi new member here!

A really late welcome! If you have any questions, ask away! I'm not around as often as I would like to be, but I take a peek every now and again!

Happy writing!

Others have investigated this, and found that things are visible.  Kdot made a particular study of it.

This pertains to posts in forums. The forums are not "closed" from Google searches, so any posts with the title and/or names of characters could be picked up in a search.

As for posted work, and this is my understanding, TNBW isn't a problem to publish anything posted here because you also need a password to access the writing being workshopped here.

Here is my blurb for book 2, any thoughts?  "After discovering that he can enter the World of Books, 15 year-old Tommy Travers has accepted training under the Gifted and now must learn to control his new powers. He has already seen the devastating consequences of ignorance. The repercussions for his past decisions are not over. The escaped wizard Mephitis read his mind. He knows where the Gifted are. If he can just get his powers back the warehouse, the Gifted, the world, will be his. Tommy is the only one who can stop him, but first he must discover the secret that Amelia has been keeping from him all along."

That's pretty good! I have nothing to add or change.

Consider it done.

Really?! Really?!

Whoo-hoo!!!!!!!

I've started revising. Writing a whole new chapter 1 to take one tiny step back and ground readers first before flinging them head first into the chaos of Catherine being shot and Matthew meeting her again.

How does this sound? Keeping in mind that I'm very happy after a couple of (big) glasses of Bailey Irish Liqueur. It's almost as good as Aussie wine! tongue

Her brother had lost his mind! Of all the reckless, foolish plots ever conceived on the border, this one surely took the prize.

If not in all of England.

Also, do you guys think it's a good idea to take this step back... It will reveal so much about Catherine and Anthony it's not funny. Not sure why I haven't done it earlier, but rather late than never I say.

I hope this is as parlously close to pornography as I ever get.  I need a way to put the idea of brain bleach in ...

You've read and reviewed all of NS, you'll be fine! smile

Hope you get well soon, but don't put yourself under too much unnecessary stress too soon! Although I can understand the urgency, your health is important!

Hey Janet

Check your Email re backup/archive site.

I'll do. I use my phone for this e-mail and it doesn't update automatically when I get new messages. So every time I send a bloody message, I all of a sudden have tens of emails to check. grrrrr.....

I'll get to it today! Thanks.

She said out of the house. Not out of the country. Besides, she keeps the quota for the group on this side of the border. Otherwise, I gotta get a passport to collect on my bottle of Aussie wine. Quit trying to lure away the Aussie and turn her into an ice cube!

You should in any case get a passport. You never know.... maybe you need to come and pick up some good Aussie wine in Ausland!

Update on the site visit - it's looking more like it's going to happen early next year now. With Thanksgiving and Christmas, it's not a good time to plan these things. I'll keep you updated as I get more info!!!

Okie dokie. Last two chapters are up. I've reached THE END. I'm still kind of in a mindfuck and can't believe it. I'll probably jump out of bed screaming in the middle of the night.

THANK YOU to everyone who had stayed with me on this journey. I couldn't have done it without you!

I'm planning to start the second draft asap based on the feedback I got and then I'll let NS rest while I get going with the next one.

WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Between Dirk and Kdot, this is the funniest thing I've read in a long time.

I'm out of touch due to a moment of insanity. See, I'm on Twitter and I'm following lit agents and publishers. Then I find out that Jollyfish Press has gone under and a publisher that I'm following is talking about freelancing. So I know he's legit. And he reps what I want to write.

All I have to lose is money. And this is a chance to up my game.

So I'm assembling a master copy in Word (ick) and thinning a lot of fat. I'm going through backlogged reviews. Then I eliminated a character (Jean-Marie). Figure I'll give it another day or two and then send it into the ether. Then I'll be back with a vengeance. Well, back to work at least.

Will be interesting to see what he has to say.

*squeals*

*gulps*

Good luck Amy!!!!!
