Re: In-line review cutting and pasting (11 replies, posted in TheNextBigWriter Premium)
Hello.
I cut and paste when I want to make a suggested edit in a particular spot. Like if I think a better word will do, I want to copy the text, then in the comment box replace the word with the one I think is better. Thus, instead of re-typing everything, I cut and paste and make the edit. This way I'm not just highlighting the single word and dropping in what I think might work better, but I'm showing it in context, so it reads better. Just the way I like to work. If you received a review from me in the previous site, you know how anal I can sometimes be in my reviews. Cutting and pasting just works better for me, and the selecting thing I noticed is just something I wanted to ask about. That's all.

Hello, SolN.
There's something I noticed while doing cutting and pasting during in-line reviews. When I do an in-line edit, I like to cut and paste the material into the comment box to avoid having to re-type it all (and potentially make my own typo). I have discovered the way I select the text in the posting makes a huge difference in getting it to appear in the comment box.
If I highlight text from right to left, what I want to copy does get the blue border, but when I copy it, I only get the first letter or two when I paste it in. If I highlight the target text left to right and press Ctrl-C, the last word is pretty much always clipped off. So to make the selction process work, I have to include words I sometimes don't want involved.
Is this a bug? Selecting text from right to left tends to work best for me, but here it's not really an option. If this is not a bug, I'll live with it. But it is something Iwanted to bring to your attention.
Thanks!

So, at work I cranked out 3300 words and got chapter 11 all wrote up. Now that chapter 10 is behind me, I think I'll be back on a good routine. Expect chapter 12 soon!

Whew! This chapter went slow. 4000 words in, I realized it wasn't working because it was... lame. No tension, no worries, nothing. Just description. Bleh! So I re-wrote it. I think it came out a lot better than the lame original. But I'll let you make that determination.

Re: First (5 replies, posted in Additional Writing Feedback)
Does anyone miss being able to read the previous reviews of a posting before writing their own? The old site had them scrolled out at the bottom. Here, you do have to go digging. In a way, that prevents a reviewer from off the cuff following the herd, I guess. But it also prevents one from seeing right off if a nit or observation has been made before, repeatedly. Just curious what everyone else thinks.

Hello, SolN.
I did see the review you dropped in, and I have gotten both regular reviews and in-line reviews since. I have not seen any new review replies. But I still see the notification I have 2 new replies on my home page. I can leave reviews, and see reviews on my work (and reply to them), but I do have the issue of reading replies to my reviews still. If you can find out which two replies the notification/link on my home page are referencing, that would help. If I look at them, hopefully the notification will go away.

I clicked everything you mentioned. The notice stays up there. It's been there for a couple of days now. That's why I'm requesting help. I've looked at pretty much all my reviews and replies and see nothing new. So either the replies aren't showing up where they're supposed to, or the notice is out of date.

Hello.
On my home page, I have a notice that I have 2 review replies. I have searched high and low for them and cannot find them. Can you either reset things so they show up, or see if this is a bug and reset it so the count is zero? I have reviews out there that have not been responded to, so I think they might be legit, but I simply cannot find them. I hope this isn't a recurring problem.

Re: Writing Feedback (25 replies, posted in TheNextBigWriter Premium)
Speaking of writing feedback, I got a notice that three of my reviews have replies. How do I view those replies? Clicking on the notification link is useless, it just brings me to all the reviews I've done. I'd like to see the replies to my reviews right up front. Is there an easy way to do this, or does one have to go digging?

Is it possible to put 'Back to Top' links in a few more spots? I know you can use Ctrl-Home to flit around, but a link would also be helpful.

Re: Site Bugs (217 replies, posted in TheNextBigWriter Premium)
I don't see this mentioned, so I will throw it out. I just published a chapter. My credit bank on my home page does not reflect the cost of that publication. And when I post reviews and earn credits, I do not see a new tally, unless I log out and log back in. Will this be addressed? I'd like to see my total credits at a glance there on the home page.

Hello!
Just a quick note that I published Chapter 8 in Dew Drops. This is the first chapter in the section Part III - Establishment, and reveals some details of life in this world I've created.

Hello.
Is there a way to list who's reviewed my work so I know who I need to reciprocate to? I liked the convenience of having a list right there at the old site.

Hello, njc!
I got that sense, too. Things are hidden. I liked having a single page with all there to click on. Right now, I'm 50-50 as to whether I'll hang around. I will try it as long as it takes to post a couple more chapters. But I know there are other critique sites out there, and I'm willing to bail. We'll see. But I am glad you found this. Now to figure out what to do with it all...
