Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Well, after having those fleeting thoughts of establishing a utopian forum, that is. I contributed to the movie thread, but you've chosen to ignore me the past three days, so...

Some people (people out here on the west coast, anyway) don't realize that Connecticut is actually more Noo Yawk than upstate New York is. If you know what I mean. And what's with Chris Christie being a Dallas Cowboy fan?

Speaking of "cool movies"... I saw a new horror flick out of Australia that was pretty okay. I mean, the critics were raving about it so I gave it a go and I think my expectations were too high. So... While it didn't necessarily scare me, the story and acting WERE a top notch above most things the genre has to offer. If nothing else, the movie pairs the craziest mother with the most annoying kid I've EVER seen on film. You'll understand what I mean if you choose to see it. It's called THE BABADOOK and it's currently streaming on AMAZON for like six bucks.

Holy fuckballs! I know WISHBONE ASH! They were psychedlic rock back in the 1970's. Kinda like the band YES. Or Emerson Lake and Palmer. Pretty much my favorite type of music. Pretty much. They weren't heavy enough for my ass, but great musicians nonetheless. Much better than Uriah Heep, anyway. Although Uriah Heep had that one song... Was it STEALIN'? Was that the one I liked? I already talked about Mountain? Well, then I probably already talked about Blind Faith and Ginger Baker, too. Anyway, there's a documentary about Ginger Baker called BEWARE OF MR. BAKER that is pretty interesting. He was the drummer for both Cream and Blind Faith. I'm pretty sure that Steve Winwood was in Blind Faith. Wasn't he? I'll look it up, but I know damn well that I'm right. Because I'm almost always right about everything I say.

My father once gave me an HP Lovecraft anthology thing when I was a teenager. Told me it was supercool, superfreaky stuff. I didn't really appreciate it at the time, but I do now. Once you grasp and realize the utter insignificance of humanity vis-a-vis the universe, once you've come to that conclusion...  Well, then your imagination can really take wing. It's a cynical purview, but not entirely void of passion or joy. There are still plenty of thrills and yucks to be had. In fact, it's kinda like walking around, being Bill Murray.

Recently the HBO show True Detective revitalized the forgotten art of the turn of the century Gothic or Weird fiction genre with its arcane references to THE KING IN YELLOW -by Robert Chambers- and the fabled evil city of Carcosa. A kind of Hell in a cosmic/parallel dimensional sense, not a religious one:
