We can get fully into this topic in about 5 to 6 chapters. I think that will cover all the incidents that are about to occur.

One thing I need to figure out is a better segue into Reese's POV, since that's the POV I want to be in once Tina and Matt call him.

They do have guns, remember the chapter they first encountered the wolves. I have a reason why I'm hesitant about camp security, you'll see in a few more chapters. But I guess the life on the planet can figure out away to outsmart the alarm.  The shuttle isn't on the planet. The shuttle pilots were needed on the Aurora.

True but it works for how the novel is written now. Otherwise I have to change a lot of things. And sometimes things are missed, because of worrying about fixing other things. Plus I like a little imperfections it makes people seem more human.

I'll answer your last question. The name of the planet is Elendore, but it's not known yet.
I need to think about your other questions.

I might explore this once the first round of editing is completed. The thing is the novel is fully written and if I added interesting security features it would change a lot of things I have already written.

No matter how often I write about this this is the hardest thing I will ever have to write about. My husband passed away on 1/13/17. My heart still aches for him to be with me in a physical form, even though his spirit is with me. It's his spirit that has comforted me the most through the sorrow that I'm feeling right now.

He is the reason why I haven't been on here much. He had been ill with ESRD so I was trying to spend as much time with him as I possibly could. Even with that disease my husband and I had thought we would have more time together, so his passing away was very unexpected. So I'm sure everyone can understand why I wasn't on here very much - I did check in from time to to see how everything was going. And this site will be a refuge when I feel strong enough to start working on my novel again.

As a tribute to my husband and to show how much he meant to me, I have set up a Go Fund Me page for a memorial fund. I would like to share this page with all of you. Don't feel that you have to donate anything. Unless you find it in your heart to do so. This is just away for you to see a couple of pictures of the man I loved and a very sweet video that I'm very grateful I took of him and one of my cats.

Thank you in advance for any consideration you give this.

Hi Tom, I really didn't mean to be gone so long. My novel is always on my mind and I hope to work something out with my schedule to start working on the editing process. I hope you and your wife are doing well. You will be the second person who I will inform when I start working on my novel again the first being my husband.

I had a great thought about a small change for chapter one, during my drive to Church this morning. And that's Delana reading a news article and feeling even more convicted about finding out what was happening with the planet and to find out if there was going to be a warm up or if it was going to get worse. I was wondering if I should do this just as personal thought or should it be a part of her first conversation with her father?

Thanks, Karen

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm getting my feet back under me and I hope to feel uncluttered in my life that I can focus on my novel again. I appreciate that you stuck by me through this rough patch.

Thanks for being such awesome friends!

Karen

I would love to have the most active posts in my subscribed groups always listed. I feel that would make people visit the groups more often. When the groups look dormant people aren't going to gravitate to them. But with the top five topics always visible it will get people to be more active to see any new information added to the topic.

Dirk - This novel is fully written, I'm just working on the revisions now, which take more focus than I seem to have at the moment.

I feel that my job drains everything out of me at times. Especially, during the times I'm fighting getting sick. So when I'm done with my day. all I want to do is sit and veg out. In the back of my mind is my novel and I try not to let frustration and grouchiness about my job taking up so much of my day, get to me. But it does sometimes and I sound grouchy when I talk to my hubby, which isn't fair to him either. The thing is due to his job my time at home outside of work is shortened even more, because he has a job where he get's up at 2AM so we both go to bed at around 8:30PM. So I guess in a way, unconsciously I do blame him a little. And I feel upset at him, because he has way more time at home outside of working than I do, so deep inside I must feel a bit resentful about it. Even though I know the job he's doing is extremely hard and very tiring. (Oh that's another thing, with his job he gets way more exercise than I get due to all the walking he has to do. And I could use that too. So subconsciously I'm a bit frustrated about that too.)

One of the reasons I told you all that, is I'm trying to figure out how to balance everything right now and not feel stressed out about it. And you all have been wonderfully supportive and are willing to work at my pace which is great. So thank you for that.

And the second reason is to let you all know I have not in any way, shape,  or form abandoned working on my novel.

Hi Tom,

Refreshing my browser worked. I love the color version of the passageway, you've done a great job making it appear as if you looking down a hallway.

Hmmm, I still read Hydroponics. Maybe it should be V5?

Dirk, I love your epigraphs, I suggest leaving some of the quotes as the ones you have already.

On my way home from work yesterday I came up with an idea for the revision of this chapter. It would start with Reese and Dego getting an emergency call to man one of the preliminary shuttles that are taking the Maintenance, Engineer, the cook and sous chef's, etc crews up to the space station so they can get ready for Aurora's maiden voyage the next day. This would be due to a shuttle crew either getting sick or hurt in an accident.  The accident could even been caused by the protestors in some way. Which would make them have to be hauled away by the police. And disrupt the space center for a while.

What do you think?

Love it Tom, only thing to change is the name of the Hyrdoponics Bay to the Terraponics bay. smile

Okay sounds good to me, and makes any revisions to this chapter much easier to do.

True. Perhaps Reese could refer to "that training trip" as a method of introducing slight flaws (to be corrected later) in #2's persona. Sort of a "remember on that training flight when you did this? Well, don't do that again".

~Tom

Maybe I could uses this in a debriefing meeting he has with the crew after the flight, or even in Chapter 2.

Hi Dirk,
To answer your question about the shuttle run I already have written I suggest reading it first, then we can decide, it's from Delana's perspective, so maybe there's a slight possibility back to back shuttle runs might work. First one just the main flight crew to work out any bugs, in Reese's POV then the main one in chapter 9.

I don't mind cranking up the serious nature of the underlining problems on Earth and making the conversations a bit more serious. I just don't want to take out all the friendly banter. You and I both love the Star Wars novels and those had plenty of friendly banter in them, even between C3PO and R2D2.

Tom, I got 1 notification for this thread.

I'm not throwing this idea out entirely, but would they do this on the day before a mission? I would think that was already done. The only real unknown of the bunch is Delana's capabilities, since she was out doing Science stuff.
