We're going to remove the feature that recalculates points. I want to simplify the system, not make it more complex. If the site doesn't mind having people add tons of content and not paying more points to review, I don't have a problem with it.

Hi Sol,

I think this is a good solution. I never noticed anyone adding tons of content after an initial publish. If this did occur, I suspect it was only a few individuals. Occasionally, I added a few paragraphs or so, but I think this is fair as the process of workshopping evolves. I think most of us are members to give and get feedback of stories in progress. Letting us make minor edits as we go to avoid duplicated reviews is extremely helpful.

Cheers,
Don

Generally, when I want to add a lot of new content, I re-publish so I get new reviews (including from current reviewers). Mostly, though, I save complete chapter rewrites for the book's next draft since it invariably affects the rest of the chapters that follow.

Thanks,
Dirk

Just let me know what to expect. I won't edit until I get some kind of notification.

Re: Question about new points charges for edits

Sol, I just edited ch 9 Genesis last nights based on the reviews I'd received, and got hit with more credits. I thought this was going to stop.

Please let us know when it will stop, and whether the charges for editing will be reversed. My total assessed charges so far, in the new site, are starting to add up...

Thanks.

We haven't implemented the changes yet. We'll let you know when we do.

Re: Question about new points charges for edits

NJC, I believe that as long as you satisfy the minimum, you can add as many extra comments but don't get any extra points for it.  You still get review credit for the in-line review only.  I don't think our credits update until the next time you sign in, which is why you might be thinking the work was done for free.

Sol, I appreciate the listing of author comments on the alerts at the top of the page.  I'm able to find them much easier this way.  I also noted the change of the clock until the website signs you off.  Big difference.  Thanks.

Yes, this is something we need to fix. It should update right away.
