Topic: Recreated published shelf and Bookstore

Hi all,

We rebuilt the published shelf over the past two weeks. The process now removes Amazon's code from the mix so that we don't need to rely upon it anymore. I think you'll find some advantages and dis-advantages. First, the cons. You must now enter some additional information in order to get your book to show on your shelf. This includes adding the url to the page where the book is sold on Amazon, or B&N, or your own site. You also need to upload a photo cover and add a blurb.

The Pros include:

- Once you add a book to your shelf, it automatically appears in the bookstore.
- You can link to books sold on other sites besides Amazon.
- You can put in a 60 word blurb to accompany the book.

This new code gives us more flexibilty. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you'll start adding your published books soon. Let me know if you have any questions.

Many thanks, Sol!  It was easy to add my books back on the published shelf.  Regards, Randall

Re: Recreated published shelf and Bookstore

I've added mine as well. Thanks, Sol. Will this be added to the other site?

Another point. I might suggest moving the "Remove" icon to the bottom of the thumbnail to avert any possible error when clicking. As it stands, it's might close to the "Learn More" button.

Sol - Is the 60-word limit to the blurb carved in stone?

I think this has to do with the size of the area next to the entry in the Bookstore, Jack. Not with the size available on your bookshelf.

Got it done.

Re: Recreated published shelf and Bookstore

Sol--Thanks for fixing this. I just entered a book, and it was easy peasy.

Only one problem--I knew what I wanted to do, so I had no problem, but for a newbie, the directions could be confusing. Under the heading that states "only your published books," the directions state "first search the book you know you have read." Confusing, right?

Or maybe it's not a problem. Time will tell. JP

Nice and easy, took less than a minute. Thanks for making it so user-friendly.

Re: Recreated published shelf and Bookstore

Maybe I shouldn't have, but I also added an anthology (not edited by me) with one of my short stories in it. Not strictly "published by me," but does hold my content.

Just uploaded my book. I dig the ease in doing so.
