Topic: Recognition for a job well done

Dear all:

Some time has passed since the new site was launched. So far, I think all of us have had enough time to "taste" the new site. Many people have reported bugs, complained, and compared it to the old one. To all of them Sol has answered fast and solved everything he could. Not everyone can be pleased, but I think none has grounds to keep complaining. It took some time to learn to navigate the new site, but, being fair, it was no biggie.

In witness whereof... I want to take some time to recognise Sol's great work. From my standpoint, this new site is way better than the old one. It's easier to communicate and easier to manage our work, there are new capabilities, it looks and feels more like a XXI century site than an old non-GUI webpage, and lots more. Sol struggled a lot at first, but he was fast correcting the bugs and listening to suggestions, adopting many of them very fast.

Sol, you've done an amazing job! Kudos for that. This new site is way too cool. I'm enjoying it much more than the other one and it's easier for me to link with other writers. It's helping me a lot improving my writing. Well, TNBW always had, but the new and improved site is helping me even more.

Well done, Sol!

Kiss,

Gacela.

Ditto!

Re: Recognition for a job well done

Well said, Mariana! Nice work, Sol. Thank you.

Re: Recognition for a job well done

I think you did an excellent job here, Sol. All the trouble I had was because I didn't understand how the site worked. Thank you so much for all your hard work it was worth the wait. dags smile

Re: Recognition for a job well done

Of stern stuff was Sol's ambition (obligatory Shakespeare reference) and well done for acknowledging his efforts, Gacela! It inspired me.

See, just now I decided to tell Wanda that I'd finally had enough.

"I've decided to leave you," I said.

"Oh, yeah?" she said, sarcastically. "For who?"

I said: "For her..." and then I pointed her at this very forum post and Mariana Reuter's TNBW thumbnail profile.

Wanda looked over my shoulder, shrugged, and told me: "Godspeed, dumbass!"

And then she walked out of the room.

Which basically meant... John Hamler doesn't really deserve to be in the company of such excellent hobbits. This website is a blessing to me (seriously) and I would just like to glom onto Gacela's sentiments and say: EXCELSIOR!

Cheers and Happy Holidays

Thank you!. It's been a hectic month smile. I appreciate all of the feedback that you have provided. It is making the site better. We're working as fast as we can to implement and make changes based on it.

We also have some new programs and features we are going to be rolling out in the new year.  So, Happy Holidays to everyone and here's to a successful 2015 for all!

I'll add my appreciation as well. I really love the in-line review system, since I can now simply highlight text and type whatever is on my mind and continue with my reading, rather than copying, scrolling down to the review box, pasting, trying to remember what I was going to say in the first place, then trying to find where I left off in the story, having taken myself completely out of it. Or conversely reading the whole thing, then trying to go back and look for the problem areas. I think it's making my reviews much more thorough and helpful.
