Re: NorthernSkies or NS - Janet
I've been talking you folks up to Bill Kandiliotis who recently returned to TNBW. Some of you may remember him. Sci-fi writer. And then I read through the previous page of posts.
Run, Bill, run like the wind!

Does that mean you're coming to Toledo on the 19th? Hmmmm? Maybe in cahoots with Janet?
No, it means that if things are on the 19th of November I can't make it. My brother is coming up from NC and we have finally managed to arrange a cousins' party for him. Some of these people I haven't seen in far too long, too. I may not know what they all look like now, and I'm sure I don't remember all their children. Some of those children are in college, others in diapers. (Michelle was about two years older than her oldest niece, and they grew up as best friends.)
We used to do these once a year, but it became impossible to get everyone together.
Enjoy. Nothing beats having family and reconnecting with people that you grew up with. It helps you remember that you are still young.
No, it reminds me of the years thst pass.
Thanks for letting me know njc! So far, I don't have any dates if it's still going to happen. But as soon as I know, I'll let you know! We've had a couple of telecons with them, and it might not be needed. Then again, the option is going ahead that the other refineries did, so we might still go to check things out. Will see and will keep you up to date!

Hope you still have a fun time!

LOL, I guess the FUCCCCKKKKKKK thread ain't helping much either?!
Meh. I think its a breath of fresh air. Everybody is back to talking at least once a day. The summer took a lot out of all of us. Hibernating in the heat, as it were.

you kidding, it was the first thing i read. very helpful BTW. clarified a few issues i had with tnbw.
thanks Dirk for the intro.
Welcome to the fire. Come closer and we'll roast each other like marshmallows :-) But in a tasty way that leaves you coming back for more. Or so I hope.
I'm still waiting for the cold weather to start so I can smear everybody with reviews. Introduce youself!
A
Marshmallows!! Now I have a sudden craving for S'mores... Thanks, Amy.
The "cold" weather has already begun for me. It's been raining non-stop since Thursday and temperatures have not gone above 55. Luckily, my ice dragon muse has finally come out of hibernation and I'm writing again. Yay!
0C in western Canada today. That's 32F for you hillbillies. Loving it. I'll send out my own F**K post as soon as the first three feet of snow hits and the temperature drops to -40. Just think, that's 72F below the freezing point of water! In Nunavut, that's considered balmy. Unfortunately, I gave away my monstrous parka about ten years ago. I kept my "Canada" boots but find them rather slippery on ice, so I bought a pair of serious "man" boots and they slip as well. They're real purdy to look at, though, whenever I open the closet.
I moved to Ottawa briefly many years ago. Had a condo with outdoor parking. Went home for Christmas for just one week. In the meantime it snowed/rained/snowed/rained/etc. By the time I got back, my windshield wipers were buried in 2 inches of solid ice. I spent three hours with the car running on high heat, continuous rear defrost, and an ice scraper used more like a hammer to free the car. I'm not sure why I didn't try a real hammer.
Ah, the memories.
EDIT: K, should western in western Canada be capitalized?

Ha! Take that medieval fantasy/magic peeps! Very helpful!
I like Bill already!
Welcome and glad you found it helpful!
Okie dokie. Last two chapters are up. I've reached THE END. I'm still kind of in a mindfuck and can't believe it. I'll probably jump out of bed screaming in the middle of the night.
THANK YOU to everyone who had stayed with me on this journey. I couldn't have done it without you!
I'm planning to start the second draft asap based on the feedback I got and then I'll let NS rest while I get going with the next one.
WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Thanks Elisheva. Luckily this means I'll have more time to review (I hope!).
*wipes Amy's tears*
Next thing you know, I'm moving out of the house!
Next thing you know, I'm moving out of the house!
There's a slightly used igloo for sale here. Comes with its own indoor outhouse.
She said out of the house. Not out of the country. Besides, she keeps the quota for the group on this side of the border. Otherwise, I gotta get a passport to collect on my bottle of Aussie wine. Quit trying to lure away the Aussie and turn her into an ice cube!
Hey Janet
Check your Email re backup/archive site.
Update on the site visit - it's looking more like it's going to happen early next year now. With Thanksgiving and Christmas, it's not a good time to plan these things. I'll keep you updated as I get more info!!!

You should in any case get a passport. You never know.... maybe you need to come and pick up some good Aussie wine in Ausland!
