Topic: Imagine...

OK, someone sent me a post on my FB with Christopher Lloyd's character saying to Michael Fox's character, "Mary, you've got to go back to 1946 and give Hillary Clinton's father a condom."  I had to point out what happened in Frequency (the series) and The Butterfly Effect--by "fixing" the past you made it worse.  So, with apologies to Hillary, who did a lot of good things in the '90's, imagine Bill Clinton married to a woman who would be the worst thing for the country:  I had him married to Sarah Palin.  Your turn...

Re: Imagine...

Imagine an artificial intelligence system who becomes sentient in the middle of a desperate battle and dreams of becoming a drag queen. (Chapter one of my book. Shameless plug.)

Re: Imagine...

"Imagine All the People" dead. Trees become the dominant sentient species and mistletoe evolves lips. Take care. Vern

Cool.  What's the name of it, so I can look for it to review.

Re: Imagine...

The Galaxy Tales - Into the Mind of God v3

There's only one chapter there for now. I recently finished v2, but I recommend ignoring it. It's very rough.

Thanks.

Re: Imagine...

Imagine learning that there is an equal and opposite world to the one we live in. Everything we do and say results in the opposite happening in the twin world. If we save a life in this world, it results in the taking of a life in the mirror world. You are in a position to prevent a catastrophic war ...

Re: Imagine...

If the opposite is happening in the other world, how would the same situations keep arising? I get a job at a Daycare, so opposite me doesn't get a job at a Daycare. Daycare me saves a a pilot's life at the grocery (killer peas), so non-Daycare me doesn't save a life? Or takes a life? Would the life taken be related to the life saved in the other world? If not, how can all these opposite reactions possibly stay related? The pilot I save in Daycare world goes out and crashes an airliner into the ocean, but this never happens in non-Daycare world because I wasn't there to save the pilot's life, yet the opposite is supposed to happen to everyone on the plane? And so on? Cool idea, but it seems like it might start to get exponentially confusing... smile

You are of course correct in this assessment. But on a limited version, it's been sort of done in the Bizarro world of Superman comics. Haven't read those in quite a long time. Take care. Vern

Re: Imagine...

Or Star Trek mirror universe.

Re: Imagine...

Or like the 'Georgia Effect'.  Transcaucasus and US. More cause/effect than mirror. Throw a stone in one and a toothless old hag with a filthy headscarf and flip-flops fashioned from the tyres of dilapidated truck, falls over in the other. If you want to sneak into Georgia the country, you have to wait until someone has snuck out of Georgia the state.

Re: Imagine...

I'm not going to pretend I understood that.

Re: Imagine...

...whilst Daycare world, the artificially intelligent despot drag queen and spiky festive foliage with human body parts are all so very understandable? smile
