Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Then I would be called the plot-slayer. Fear me. Ask K 'cuz he knows all too well. I don't let him get away with ANYTHING.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I just made some minor edits to Sleeping with Wolves.  They don't address anybody's comments but mine, so I won't do a repub unless someone wants me to.

Which chapter number is this njc? I can't remember if I looked at this one yet. From memory, I don't think so, so it will be all new to me.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Currently chapter 66.  Kirsey, Pengrit, Strumpet, with Harriat, Vamp, Parkol, Forsa, and Midlich.

505

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Just got a rewrite of Erevain out.  Working on the next two chapters.  I should have Nikkano's edited up in a day or two.  The one after that will take longer.

506

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Also Nikkano.

507

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

To be clear-- both Erevain and Nikkano are out.

Everain and Nikkano done. Looked at 66, but I don't know if I should wait until it will make more sense or not - I know none of the names above.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Don't worry.  If you  haven't seen it ... and maybe you have ... it won't be too hard.  But if you want to meet Kirsey first, see the brobdingnagian Chapter 32, then Rescue Hunt, currently Chapter 64.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Thank you for listing chapter numbers. Very helpful. Will get to 66 as soon as work gives me a break.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

You've already done 66--Sleeping with Wolves.  I don't know whether they address any of your points.  The changes to 4 and 5 are bigger.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I made a minor improvement in Erevain, in the kitchen when Erevain is skinning the turnip.  No need to go back unless you want to, but I don't want anyone surprised.

I have a rough sequence for the next chapter.  I don't know yet if it will work or if it will need a lot of tweaking.  I'll start on it now.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Chapter 4 and Chapter 5? Give me the number and the book

514

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Book 1, Chapter 4, Erevain, Chapter 5, Nikkano.  I'm working on the next two chapters.

515

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Copy that

516

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Aargh.  Working on the next chapter, getting minutia'd in backstory.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Just had a double-insight on the next part of the Erevain scene, linking Erevain, Nikkano, and Dianen.  If I let it, it would expand into three chapters, so I'll have to summarize the episode--and if I do it right, the summary will fit the sequence perfectly.

I might split the chapter for the purpose of submitting it here.  Let's see how long it takes.

First I have to do a review for Seabrass.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Whew.  Still working on the Erevain/Nikkano bit.  I've had another Bright Idea.  Bright Ideas take time.  I took time out to make some edits to Chapter 54, Merran and Jamen Take to the Road.  The changes are to the clothing-trade scene.  I've been meaning to do them for a while.  They might be a little hamfisted.  If anyone asks, I'll repub so you can get points.

I have to do some reviewing today too.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Anant the Chapter 54 edits: I just fixed an error and made a few improvements.  Back to Erevain, Nikkano, and Dianen.

I remembered K especially giving you a hard time on the clothing-trade scene. I'll find time this week to pop in and check it out (not in a perverted way, more a reviewer check it out way!) smile

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I'm not answering K's objections.  I'm amplifying them.  Let me know if you'd like a re-pub.  (Unfortunately, previous reviews become invisible.  There really has to be a better way to leave historical material visible without showing it as alternate chapters.  It's a variation on the version-control/version management problem that software deals with constantly.)

522

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I've addressed a few of the bigger problems near the start of Nikkano.  Again, feel free to ask for a repub.

523

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

In flipping through some print-copies, I noticed places for improvement in a couple of chapters.  I just made some minor edits to Master Yage and Pegeen -- I.  If anyone feels the need to review for points, I'll repub.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Another future scene started bugging at my consciousness and getting in the way of what I need to do.  I just spent a day or so on it and put it up in Book II.  If you need points, feel free to have a look.  It's only about 1260 words, and should probably be about 960.

Amy, if you care to look, nit and peck me to death on the description; it's your metier.  And, as I say in the notes, my biggest concern is whether the over-the-top meeting goes off the deep end.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I have time tonight. Chapter number? Oh, Janet, I read you steam-scenes and will try to get to those three chapters tonight as well.
