Or that they only want him because they can attract him, and can pull his strings.  Because they can pull his strings.  Because they can own him.  Maybe they're not actually like that ... but gee, it looked and felt like it.

This is an interesting move shoving us right into the thick of things. No dilly-dallying for Matthew, huh?

He has lots to do! wink But seriously, it's been noted in one of the reviews for the previous chapter that I need to mention the raid towards the end. I will do that next revision as not to surprise any sensitive souls when they read this chapter.

You'll also realise that Matthew is getting nowhere to finding out who staged that little outing that started this whole thing. I'm going to take it to the next level soon ... I think the villian will grow on you soon.

M does believe that A doesn't trust him/believe him. Otherwise M would've knocked on the front door and spoken to A ...

Should M come out straight and just say that? Ie It should be plain I think so too. I can always wait for your review too. smile

Re: Northern Skies - Janet!

You DO have M say it, near the end, in the conversation before the wench gets involved.

No exactly though, and not in reply to Anthony?

Re: Northern Skies - Janet!

But he's talking about loyalty to Anthony.  He'd undermine that by saying outright that he doesn't trust Anthony.

I don't think so. Anthony's change of heart is very sudden ... and making 100% sure is better than just assuming. Anthony has a lot to answer for and proof ... I think you can be supportive/loyal, while still being careful?

Norm's out of commission until the household has been downsized by about 90%. Word of advice: don't ever buy those rolls of packing tape with the builtin plastic dispenser. I could've sworn I checked the Amazon reviews before buying it...

Is Norm back yet?! Hope the downsizing was a success!

Re: Northern Skies - Janet!

General update on NS:

I've decided to make a slight change to Matthew and Catherine's history/past. So next revision, she would've followed them around instead of them being asked to look after her - this will suit her impulsive/rebellious nature better IMO. So I'm going to bring in more/better/slightly different flashbacks where it's shown Catherine always cared about people and had taken a few "hits" for Matthew and Black John to keep them out of trouble - despite their natural "boys" resistance to playing with "girls" - that might still go, but for now, I'm keeping that aspect. This also mean that they haven't seen much of each other during the eight years of her marriage. Most of this will be flashbacks from Matthew's POV where he notices subtle differences, less than subtle difference like her curves, and also the things that's still the same.

These changes will be incorporated in the rest of the chapters to be posted, so hopefully it's not big enough to create too much confusion, panic and chaos! smile

Thanks!!!!

Yes, you just agreed with yourself! But that's because I understand "Janet's English"! tongue

I'm going to change it next revision, I don't want readers to object to agreeing with themselves after all! smile I'm optimistic it will take re-arranging of the sentence structure and changing one or two words at most ...

Thanks for asking. I'm getting there. I'm still reading/reviewing here on TNBW, but I can't concentrate on writing with so much stuff to do. My list is still five pages long. I'm also watching movies and documentaries about Roman times and Christianity, which is research, mostly for the next draft. In between I torture myself with bi-weekly dental work. One infection and three dry sockets so far. Damn do those hurt!

Just found out there is a six week lead time for the Salvation Army to do pick ups of donations. Seriously? I'm drowning in bags and boxes. Anyone in New Jersey need an overly-cold fridge, a gently used king-size bed (okay, it's broken), or a large living room wall unit too small for most flat screen TVs? I've started dumping stuff on Craigslist, but when they see they have to carry a free fridge or mattress down three flights of stairs, they scurry away.

Good luck with that list! I get grumpy when my list is 5 lines ...

How does that work? You have to decide 6 weeks in advance if you may have something for them to pick up? I'm guessing most people will be able to do away with the items long before then, so it seems counter-intuitive.

Does this mean you're moving one of these days?

I've replied to your rereplies of my replies to your comments smile For most, I'm hoping that giving it some time, I'd find the best/better way to incorporate your suggestions. Or even better, that other reviewers will come up with some brilliant suggestions where I can not! LOL  *Amy!!!! Dirk!!!* smile

Did you check to see if Goodwill or any church-based charities might be willing to take things?

Yes. I scoured online for charities that pick up (I don't drive). Salvation Army seems to be my only choice in this neighborhood. I can deal with the pickup delay. I doubt I'll move this year, but I hope to be ready by the end of January when I have to sign a new lease.

I finally found someone who wants the monster fridge. They're coming tomorrow. That leaves the bed and the wall unit. The latter I can probably sell for a few hundred bucks.

It's a lot more fun to kick it to pieces (and throw it out a window)or learn to throw knives at it. Consider it a learning experience.:-)

I'm assuming you are referring to the emus and not the Aussies when you're syaing "epic" ... Serious, don't f#ck with them (the emus). They are bullet-proof, powerful and big. They quickly went from "vermin" to "enemy #1" and we went to war against them. And lost. Won't do that again.
